It's come to my attention that there are two main types of thread dominating LL Central:

1) an individual climbs onto their hobby horse and rides it into the ground

2) desperate housewives sexualising and leering at men i.e man spam

So with my amazing powers of empathy I just wondered .. do the chaps feel left out? Maybe, so just for them, here are some posts about things they tend to like (at least the ones I know).

X-Man needs to put up some gadget pictures. I'm no good on gadgets.

I need to find a picture to illustrate that man smell thing. It's tricky.

p.s the Star Wars casting thing is on the end of the ranting about Obama thread.

Quite personally, I'd be delighted for the male perspective in these threads. Seriously.

He-hem! Umm, I'm no desperate housewife! In a week and a half I'll be a desperate part-time student/housewife, thank you very much.

... I'd like to know... do men mind being sexualised and leered at?

They seem to like it, in general. But male perspective, yes, we need some.

Where's Web? He has gone AWOL.

I'd like to know something too.

I think that in general women have this thing where if someone they find attractive is leering at them, it's flattering. But if someone they don't find attractive does the exact thing, then he's branded a pervert or creep, etc.

Do men do that? If a "hot" woman looks at you, is it flattering? But if a woman you don't find attractive does the same is it violating? Or does it not matter, as long as there is female attention?

I had this discussion recently with a so-called male friend. According to him, if she's not hot, the merest glance from an un-hot woman gets her branded a "stalker".

But then my so-called friend is an idiot.

Web is wrapped up tight. Come back, Web, we love you! Be silly for a little while, and whilst you are here tell us how you feel about being sexualised. Bad? Good? Offensive? Puzzled minds need to know.

I don't mind.

With the exception of celebrities, which are obviously a bit removed... I don't always care to see women I could potentially be interested in leering at men. But then, if I'm already romantically involved with them, then it goes back to being alright, because then it just seems like she's observing something she finds beautiful.

I would, but you rack up the pages far too quickly.

Well, attractive is preferable, but unattractive is ok as long as it's not intrusive. I'm not so sure about the "as long as there is female attention" part. That's not really a constant necessity.
