u probably have heard of the controversy around the new terms of service of facebook. well for those who didn't, in summary, facebook changed part of its policies around privacy from the 4th of february. the difference is subtle, before that date, there was a sentence or two that disappeared from the terms of service republished after the 4th. Facebook downplay the implications of it, saying that ultimately if you want to share pics on facebook, then u must give the right to facebook to own the pics so that whenever u quit this site, the people to whom you send the pic will still have it in their profile. it's like on a simple mailbox. i joined the article of the newspaper which started the controversy in the US (the consumerist); needless to say that now france and certainly other countries around the world are talking about it. http://consumerist.com/5150175/facebooks-new-terms-of-service-we-can-do-anything-we-want-with-your-content-forever IP: Logged |

Honestly , why would ANYONE assume that their content is private on the wide open Internet? Apart from bank accounts, etc. that is.IP: Logged |

Yes, thank you. There's a huge discussion about it right now on one of the groups in Facebook. Seems they've changed their terms and conditions again and suspended this policy for now. I guess we'll have to wait and see. IP: Logged |
