How heartbreaking to lose someone in that way (or in any way). I feel for her family... and she will be missed as an actress. IP: Logged |

quote: Death Sister project Wikinews has related news: British actress Natasha Richardson dies at age 45On 16 March 2009, Richardson sustained an epidural hematoma, a type of traumatic head injury, when she fell while taking a skiing lesson at the Mont Tremblant Resort in Quebec, Canada. Paramedics and an ambulance which initially responded to the accident were told they were not needed, according to Yves Coderre, the Director of Operations of an emergency services company. After she refused medical attention at the ski hill, she returned to her hotel room and about three hours later was taken to Centre Hospitalier Laurentien after complaining of a headache. She was transferred from there by ambulance to the Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal in critical condition and was admitted about seven hours after the fall. The following day she was transferred to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where she died on 18 March. An autopsy conducted on 19 March 2009 by the New York City Medical Examiners Office revealed the cause of death was an "epidural hematoma due to blunt impact to the head", and her death was ruled an accident.

Unexplained weight gain is one of the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer. http://www.cancerbackup.org.uk/Cancertype/Ovary/Causesdiagnosis/Symptom This is just to be informative, btw, my job is librarian, and health is one of the main fields I work in. Drugs cancer patients get given, such as steroids, might see them gain weight not lose it. It depends, there are about 200 different kinds of cancer. My cousin had breast cancer and a multitude of treatments. Though she said that at least something good would come out of it and she could drop a dress size, she didn't lose a pound. However, the docs managed to get rid of the cancer so I doubt she is going to worry about it too much. Cervical cancer is known as the 'silent killer' - for its lack of symptoms. quote:
The most common symptom of cervical cancer is abnormal bleeding, such as between periods or after intercourse. Often there is also a bad-smelling vaginal discharge, and discomfort during intercourse. Women who have had their menopause (who are no longer having periods) may have some new bleeding.
How general is that? It could, as cancer back up stress, be symptomatic of many other illnesses. I repeat, this is just for information. The family anecdote gets thrown in for free. I go for my smear tests regularly but otherwise I tend to keep my thoughts on the subject in a professional capacity. Don't anyone go worrying, is what I'm saying. Bleeding during your periods could be anything. I had it when I was young because I was anaemic. A course of iron pills sorted me out. IP: Logged |

Its pretty haunting for me since Mt Tremblant is really close by, only 45 minute away from me. 20-30 min drive on a good day.My mom and my Dad have been there and so has some of my friends. One of my friends was on the exact same hill two weeks before Natasha was there. The hill is pretty small from the picture, I was actually a little arrogant myself when I saw how big the hill really is and figured I could go down it myself without a helmet. But of course lots of people fall on that hill, when my pal brought back her home video from her trip to Mt. Tremblant you can see 3 people falling on that hill in the background. What I don’t get is why did she have to go through three hospitals? Instead of sending her across the Ontario side to a good hospital in Ottawa. The first hospital she went to is too small, the second hospital in Montreal is a training hospital. The third hospital in New York is well established but by then, too little to late. IP: Logged |
