I love my iTunes collection. I'm such a newbie at all of this technolgy and learning about iTunes just has me chuffed

I've downloaded my own cds, and have even found some of my real favourites from years ago. I have 1230 songs saved!!

Of course, all the younger knowflakes will probably roll their eyes at this thread!!

What's your method of music collection?

Koi babe, tell me you're not putting Nik Kershaw on your iPod because if you are I will have to stage an intervention because that is abuse of technology and I shall have to confiscate it.

*does not own and iPod and wants one. Wants Koi's actually.... is plotting how to get it*

My method of music collection? Recommending a good band to my Dad. He then buys the CD. I then nick it. Voila.

Wheels - you are a clever scammer of music acqusition. I love it!

What you could do to clinch an iPod, is go out with a Techno Funk Dude like am I, and get introduced to all manner of music technologies! Otherwise, I'd still be winding the handle on my gramophone

My confession - my iPod is not big enough to hold all of my 1230 songs! Damn technology!!! BUT, I can crank up my mini speakers on my computer and listen to Nik Kershaw and dream of dancing at night-clubs like when I was young and thought I was cool

I don't like iTunes. I prefer the competition (amazon.com), which doesn't force the use of their own audio/visual program. They have the same prices and selection.

Koi, you may also be interested in Pandora.com, though it may not work outside of the United States.

Not sure if I could get through life without a tune.

Main places I collect music-:

YouTube links stored on the computer. I exchange lists with a nerdy Cancerian friend.

CDs thrown under the player in my car. All the cases get thrown on the backseat.

The revolving duke box in my head.

Got Gemini - you have 2 months of solid listening of music!!! Which is great for you, but I don't think I could go that long waiting for Nik Kershaw to surface - now that he has pride of place in my playlist.

AG - Pandora were deeply deeply sorry to say that my IP address was Australian and therefore was unable to access their service. However, all is not lost, they have stated that they will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora.

bluemoon - I wish I could enjoy YouTube like you, but I get really distracted by the visuals when I'm listening to music. Weird, eh!

Wheelsofcheese - geez, do I have news for you! My beloved bought me a 16GB iPod 3 days ago!!!! You really have to work on your Dad - see if you can get a lime green one

I haven't bought a CD in years, to be honest. I get it from Livejournal/Sordo Music Database (uploaded albums onto rapidshare or megaupload) or torrents if all else fails.

I have 6546 songs. Sometimes I'm too lazy to download lol. At those times I use Last.FM, which is like Pandora except the selection of songs is wider and it tracks what you listen to.
