Indeed--you are breaking new ground here, in having a pink background (yeah--this ain't purple). Randall, you are a pioneer! I do wonder if the tone of the conversations would change with a different color? Not that you'd ever tamper with your blessed "purple" board. Upon first participating in this board, I have to admit that the color did make me think it would be rather "frilly," "girly," sunshine-and-lollipops, airy-fairy, and not very serious discussion. And I have to say that to my taste, the overall trend of superficial, quick-moving, repetitive (can't anyone do a search before starting a new topic??) threads (some of that I'd say having to do with the site mechanisms and some with the extremely hands-off management) is an aspect of the airiness of this site and is not to my liking. At the same time, I marvel at the even, easy-going temperament of Randall's management style, allowing quite a range of self-expression here. I'd guess I'd rather have that than some heavy-handed moderating. One really feels welcome to participate here and share at whatever level they want. Who knows but that the pink doesn't indeed keep everybody calm and content.... (Ah--NOW I see it: Randall has masterminded a devious plan to enslave us all, first lulling us into acquiescence with this Pepto-Bismol colored board! I'm on to you, Randall!) Overall, there is no site like it, and I guess the pink color is a symbol of its unique position in cyberland. IP: Logged
