I wondered if you could LEXI the president's name when you have some free time. I'm very curious about what type of man he is (although I think I already know!) Mabye we can get a glimps of what he has in store for us.

I would be more impressed with a tax *increase* for the mega wealthy  ... and... hey! what's 5% of *nothing*?  teasin!  I think my tax bracket (perhaps yours too?) should pay *no* taxes  ~Princess ------------------

OSheen~They get the rest of it other places... don't be too envious! And.. why shouldn't a legal secretary make as much as a *doctor* ?? Just realized I put a few n's in when they didn't belong.  Oh well, this dosen't really change the LEXI.
Almost all polititians are corrupt to some degree. But I really think Gore wanted to do what was best for the country. Just an innate feeling I have always had about him. The LEXI confirmed this for me. Well, I guess we as a country weren't ready for this. It's too bad so many people just look for charisma when picking a leader.
YES, I think it would be great to have a woman president! Margaret Thatcher seems to have done a pretty good job, as well as Indira Gandhi and others. SO WHY NOT AMERICA. I THINK IT'S TIME!

Chandra~ I agree...The man that puts his concern for Mother Earth *first* is the one that is putting *our* best interests first ... and S/He will get my vote  Until then, I'm afraid I'll just have to continue to get nauseous at our *choices* in presidential candidates... sigh Actually I think, like the idea of having a Father AND Mother, so too should a male and female TOGETHER preside over our nations decisions - with a third party to break a tie

Margaret Thatcher, a great job! ARGGHH
I don't think the miners and a few others would agree! Everybody hated her in the end. A lot of riots against her politics, over the poll tax and so on. She wiped out the trade unions. A good friend of Pinochet too.And Indira Gandhi and her compulsory sterilization program? Her power came from her red book she got from her father Nehru, in which all the dirty little secrets of politicians and men in charge were written down. So that nobody could oppose her. I wasn't aware Margaret Thatcher was so loathed. I'm not that familiar with British politics. I just assumed she did ok because she seemed to hold the office a long time. Thanks for enlightening me. (By the way, I said a "pretty good job", not a "great job").
As for Indira Gandhi, yes, forced steralization is awful. She did have her faults, but she was also a very strong woman who did alot for her country. Yes, Nehru was pretty much a socialist, but I believe he was because he wanted to end poverty in his country. I think he truely cared about the people of India. Indira did have a socialistic bent too, but I don't think this made her a bad person. (and I say this as a tried and true capitalist). She got her country through crises that could have possibly been disasterous, and I respect her for her take-charge attitude. Perhaps this because I am a woman too.If there are any Indians reading this post, I would love to hear your opinions on this matter.

I agree on the principle, Chandra, that more women in charge of the country would be great. Some women ministers or members of Parliament do a "pretty good job", or are presidents like in Ireland, is it in Iceland too? Some countries have a very low number of women MP, like a pathetic 10% in England and France, less than Greece or Iran!IP: Logged |

Miracle,  Thank you for the kind words. However Thank the Druids also, they just confirmed what I already k-New. Thank Linda also for imparting what the Druids shared with her.  s shine brighter because of them. I think we all might be well to revisit John Lennon's solo career. He really cared about the rights of the people, He believed that people could change the world. People believed that they could change the world because he believed it. They believed him. That's why his death was so traumatic for so many people. They didn't realize that he was just the carrier of the message. Just because the messenger isn't around anymore, the message doesn't change. She is also Queen of New Zealand. The Governor General (Her representative)is a WOMAN! The Chief Justice is a WOMAN! The present Prime Minister is a WOMAN!
She has just won the latest election, so continues into her second term in office. The previous Prime Minister was a WOMAN until she was ousted by a man, but it didn't do him any good because his party polled its lowest % in decades. And guess what our House Of Parliament is shaped like and called? THE BEEHIVE!!!! Just thought you would like to know about some of our Queen Bees.
