Ooohhhhkay....explanation req'd.The first verse reflects the plight of a `housewife' who lives in direct contrast to the hectic (or so he thinks) world of a lawyer or business man. She looks after the household finances (reams of paper) and LITERALLY puts food on the table, but copes with this in the hope that affection will follow her perseverance through an arduous, tedious day.
The second verse indicates the more spiritual and inquisitive nature of the woman whilst the man is preoccupied with what he consideres to be more important, cutthroat and worldly things, and her impulse to simply GET OUT.
The third verse is about coming conflict, and that we should be cherishing what we have, in spite of the imperfections, as the coming together of all in peace is not a possibility and the future is grim...but to hold onto the principles of peace, as in the end, our principles are all we have and it is the only thing that cannot be taken from us. If we stoop to fighting then (as men often do) then we are lost in soul as well, and are no longer the `men' we were.
I am truly sorry to present this message.
