I'm not sure if I should disclose my friend's name (I wouldn't feel too reluctant to do so actually, but still...) , but his lexigrams confuse me quite a bit.

I AM RICH, MANLY AND HARD. I AM CHARM. I AM A MAN. I DIE EARLY. I AM A LIAR (which doesn't surprise me). I AM A RED MAN. I AM DRY. I AM A MAD MAN. I AM LAME. I AM A DRAMA. I AM A HAND. I RAN IN (the) RAIN.

Among them-

I CRY HARD. I CRIED HARD. I HARDLY CRY. I HARDLY CRIED.

Can someone give me some good advice??? Thanks a bunch!!!

I've just found out something...

The words 'rare' and 'rarely' apply to my friend's lexigrams, since there are two Rs in his first name, so now it's like this...

(still very confusing)
I RARELY LIE. I AM REAL. I AM A REAL LIAR. I RARELY DIE. I RARELY DIE EARLY. I RARELY CRY. I RARELY CRIED. I RARELY CRY HARD. I RARELY CRIED HARD. I AM A RARELY RICH, MANLY, HARD, RED, DRY, MAD, LAME MAN. I AM A RARE CHARM. I AM A REAL CHARM...

Can you help me see the message behind? Many thanks!!!

Well done on your efforts Dana!

Has your friend tried to offer any insight on your lexis? Does it speak to him?

Perhaps you could disclose the letters of his name and we can have a go our-S-Elves?

BTW, I was going to send 'Star Signs' to him as his birthday present, but next he just took off for India and to my shock, he was to spend ANOTHER year abroad (he had just returned home after travelling overseas for three years), so the book has to wait til next March at least. And to be honest, I don't expect him to fully appreciate this remarkable book, although it was him who asked me to read the 'Conversations with God' trilogy and the one who introduced vegetarianism to me...I'm just not very optimistic about his accepting 'Star Signs', but I'll do my best.

I HARDLY CRY. I CRY HARD.

I don't see why this would be a contradiction. He holds back his emotions, but when that dam finally breaks he cries hard. This would be especially true if he's a chauvinist. "I AM A MAN." and has ideas about how men aren't supposed to cry.
