What story do you speak of, leo_on_fire? The name Rennes le Chateau sounds quite familiar to me, though I can't place it. Is it related, somehow, to The DaVinci Code and Holy Blood, Holy Grail books? I read those books over the past year and I believe that's where the name sounds familiar to me from now that I think of it. Am I way off base here?

You're quite welcome, leo_on_fire. The name really just jumped out at me so I didn't have much choice.
Hmm, I guess it may be time to do some research on this place. I read Holy Blood/Holy Grail and was fascinated by it but I must admit that it was so much information at once that I'm sure I didn't internalize all of it. Thanks for bringing this interesting lexigram to our attention.

You ask some of the most insightful questions.
Et in Arcadia Ego, hmm?
Well, it really is a rather amazing statement but I need to do alot more thinking on it. There's always the fact that I may "figure" out what it means, have a perfectly reasonable argument, and then be entirely off base as to what was actually meant by it.
I realize that Arcadia is now seen is a Utopian sort of place/kingdom. However, many modern theories/philosophies grant it a sense of nostalgia; as in, even in Arcadia there is a sense of the lost, the old, the past. Some believe it to be more of an anarchistic state equalizing Pan and the other "creatures" banned there as demons and such.
Then is the fact that Arcadia is also supposed to be an actual geographical location in Greece, linked to the mythology, of course, but nevertheless "real".
The Arcadians were supposed to be "older than the moon". I don't know about you, sis, but I read that to be interpreted along Steiner's theory of the evolution of creation. So who were they really? And is "et in Arcadia ego" meant to relate to that long lost time and space or is it truly a modern "Utopian" place?
Some interpretations of Poussin's painting have suggested that it means something along the lines of "even in Arcadia I am" and refer to "I" as death. That seems to be where the modern nostalgic and morbid attribute comes from. I disagree. I don't think it's death speaking at all. Also, many interpret the painting to depict shepards discovering the writing on the headstone. To me, it seems that they're actually marking it. And the shepards ... symbolic perhaps. Shepards of what, or really now, whom? The silent teachers and leaders, keepers of secrets and old traditions. The shepards of our souls? Now, why does that sound familiar?
So who (I) is where (Arcadia)?
And in Arcadia I ... it seems almost to be an opening to statement. Then again, it seems to imply that in a state of Arcadia (Utopian bliss) I am, I exist, etc. It could mean many things but I'm sure there is a true meaning to it, one decidedly intended at least. And why destroy the headstone? For what purpose would whom do it?
If I follow a purely intuitive sense, I get the feeling that it is the Spirit creators of our world, Osiris and Isis or whatever name you feel most at home with, speaking. Yet at the same time, it seems to suggest the "I" as in all our Spirits above the ego restrictions of our world. And so, do we all truly exist in Arcadia? It pulls at my brain the idea of the devachan for the soul between incarnations, yet as related to Spirit. For each, mind, soul, and spirit, has it's own realm to go to in death. So perhaps we've touched upon the interpretation of death into the phrase. But, if interpreted as, "I am" then it suggests a timelessness ... The Spirit always in Arcadia.
Yet, I'm still not satisfied, having only scratched at the surface.
More thoughts to spiral.

How about you, Tink ... what do you think?

Thanks!

Anyone else care to take a crack at this lexigram? I was in rather a hurry when I spiraled on it and I'm sure there's much more it wants to tell us. I'd try it myself but, at the moment, I'm up to my ears in boxes, moving materials, and all sorts of cancel/transfer notes and phone calls, etc. and my head feels like one big jumble of messiness.
I'd really love to see what anyone else can discover within it.

So the logical next step would be to lexi "Et in Arcadia Ego"...

Anyone want to take it on? (I haven't done this since 1990, so I respectfully defer.)

Et in Arcadia Ego

I CREATE A GARDEN AT NITE, IN NOIR
A NORDIC GOAT GOD AND A DEAR DEER TO DANCE IN IT
A GENIE AT IT

IN-TONE A GREAT NOTE, A GRAND C(h)ORD
AN ODE TO GOD
A CREATION RITE
DINE ON DOCTRINE
GRIN
I CAN RANT A(s) AN OGRE
I CAN RAGE TO TEAR GEO
AND DENT A NODE
OR
I CAN RIDE AN ORANGE
NO RAGE
NO ANGER
NO AGE ...
NO GREED
I GAIN AN EDEN GARDEN
IT NOT GONE
ET IN ARCADIA
EGO ... NOT OGRE EGO, ORANGE EGO
DON'T DRONE ON AND ON,
RIDE A TONE TO CREATE IT
DANCE AND GREET IT
A TRINE NOTE
IT NOT RECANTED IN A GENETIC CODE
GO ON
DO IT
I CAN
T(h)E EGO CAN

******

Just a quick shot at it ... I'm in the middle of unpacking our house, lol. I feel the "I" speaking is significant of the higher Ego, ie, the lower Ego can be symbolically seen as "i" while the higher Ego can be symbolically seen as "I". Higher, as in, purified and reborn, etc. Your true Ego/I, or your true individuality/Spiritual S-elf once you overcome the "lower" self and reawaken the connection, yada yada. The Ego speaking in this lexi is a particular one though I can't place it, yet it also suggests to me a collectiveness of all Egos. Bleh. I'll stop boring you with my little theories. Anyone else care to continue this lexi or elaborate on this fascinating subject? I'm on the edge of my seat here.

Eleanore, your RLC lexigram is brilliant! Given that it is the spiritual home of Mary Magdalene, who is known for her tears of compassion for the earth, I think you have done a beautiful job!!

And this one has very special meaning to me, based on my own experiences in Rennes le Chateau:

SEARCH A STAR TALE

But I would venture that you missed a hidden one, although you were very close to it:

HER TEARS REACH EASA

(Easa was Mary's name for Jesus)

Brava to you on your great work!

What else would we expect from someone named after the great Grail Queen of Aquitaine...?

Best, Kathleen www.themagdaleneline.com

Thanks, Kathleen! I find this whole mystery so fascinating. It's funny that I worked on it without actually thinking about it; I hadn't associated Rennes le Chateau with anything before I did the lexigram even though I had read about this whole fascinating subject.

HER TEARS REACH EASA

Wow! Thanks for pointing that out. Amazingly poignant.

Thanx ya'll for working on this...I hope everyone takes this as a compliment but I am using some phrases in these lexi's as clues. Everyone has done a wonderful job...I missed ya'll..
