in the beginning was the Word...

why is it that the combining of 'sounds' is called 'spelling'?

are we making a 'spell' when we construct a word of sounds? is that the reason the sounds of our words, projected into the universe, manifest material reality? magic?

and why, when we write in script, is it called 'cursive'...evocative of a 'curse'?

writing...spelling...making magic...

magic of the word druids perhaps...
