"I HIT," in my head, came with "ball", ie. sports. The last part sounds confusing and I took it to mean in later years (ten, ten as in his twenties) he might enjoy a drink (stein) with the boys. Perhaps some questionable things in his environment (heist?) but the presence of an older woman (hen) to keep him in check.
