The Porcelain Pagoda of Nanjing
aaaa c d ee f gg h ii j l nnnn ooo pp r t

In Nanjing, China
in an open land near a port

A place of religion, here go to preach
porcelain the color green, orange and peach
Creed of the poor of crop and field
afore clearing land and chopping tree

A place to hang lantern at night
large throng of people
frolic and jape there alright

A lot of clapping, cheering and gaiet(y)
Great feeling it engaged
A tree of life and neath a pond and frog,
tiger, panda, deer, lion and dog in caged.

Agin Taiping holding fort
join in on fight, other defeating it
Fragile fail fling at hole jeering

Project financed France, Ireland, India, Japan, England repai(r)ing

Hi Eleanore,

The porcelain pagoda was one of the seven wonders of the world, it was made entirely of white porcelain bricks which changed colour as the sun progressed across the sky. Its roofs were golden. The pagoda was where chinese buddhism was practiced. It was destroyed during the Taiping Uprising and is currently being reconstructed.
