We've just moved to a cute little townhouse. Now.. in the little courtyard there is an area that could desperately use some plants of SOME kind. It's just plain dirt. The problem is a pine tree lives there. There's not a lot of sun and I guess the soil would be acidic from the pine tree? What would be good to plant there? My mother says Azalias *don't know if I spelled that right*

Adviceappreciated

on a round-about i'm turning on to you.. don't you love the way we're turning, yes you do.. little schools of hummingbirds are streaming by.. while we're merging with the color of the sky.. big yellow sun.. you're the one.. here's our souls
heal them, heal them.. beautiful girl you're the world.. i'm in you, breathing

Wych, congratulations on your new home

Yes, pine needles make the soil acidic and even acidic loving plants will need some compost tilled in tho. Something my horticulture instructer always reminded me: dirt is under your fingermails, soil is in your yard He was such a nerd.

I bet azaleas grow beautiful in CA.

Haven't really decided yet just because we hit a small financial hump and haven't been able to invest in it just YET. I will, though
