Masil, I know that they use composting latrines in China, here is what I found on the web. Good luck with your project! http://www.weblife.org/humanure/chapter6_4.html IP: Logged |

Welcome Masil, I think that in alot of rural countries, indigenous people tend to utilize pigs to dispose of their humanure. Like, just pooing in the bushes and letting the pigs eat it. I *think*, I also heard that in India some people even design toilets that direct the humanure directly into a pig trough...though I don't know where I heard that and can't find a lick about it with Google so I don't know if it's true or not. The only interesting thing I found in my searching was this site about a garden in Mexico that uses an extensive greywater irrigation system. They have a little bit about the pigs and a pit they dug at the bottom of the page. http://www.oasisdesign.net/design/examples/maruata/maruata2.htm I'd love to hear about your project when it's done, by the way! I'm not crazy about eating Chinese produce because it is fertilized with HM. They are carnivores + plus there's this Bird Flu epidemic you know.IP: Logged |
