i am growing some watermelon plants in cups and then i find out where i live they dont let you add to the preplanted foliage, or they'll cut it down. is there some way i could grow it from a pot indoors, and just kind of let the melons sit beside the pot or something???IP: Logged |

Hi Batgirl, cute nic A better alternative ( if you could) would be to put the pot outside in the sunshine. I`m not sure how well they will do indoors but they do grow fine in the greenhouse here so I don`t see why not. ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

i would say that there is little to no chance you would have any luck with growing melons indoors. they need a nice amount of sun and heat. the larger the pot, the better, and the more sun you can get them in, the better they will do. i have never grown them in pots, but i do grown them in my garden. add some sand to your pots, and they like plenty of water. WATER melon. good luck!IP: Logged |

darn rabbits. i set the plants outside, i found out the lawn trimming people wouldnt mess with the stuff except on one side of the house where they cut the bushes, and within a few days there was no evidence of the little watermelon plants. no watermelelons for me! maybe next year i'll put up a little fence. i didnt think about rabbits IP: Logged |
