zuccini and cucumber plants? I have some little plants in pots waiting to be transplanted into my garden. How do you transplant them?------------------ "Know thyself" Inscribed on the temple of Apollo at Delphi IP: Logged |

Is your soil prepared? If so, just gently remove the plug of plant and soil and put into your hole. Firm soil around it and water gently to settle it in. Planting is best done in evening to avoid the heat of the day so the plant can get it`s ground feet If your soil is not prepared, thats a different answer ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

Oh, depending on the variety make sure you place them far enough apart so they have room to spread. Thanks Juni, As for preparing I mix up loam(sp?)with minor and the soil in the back yard. I haven't done any tests to see if it's acidic or anything. My lettuce seems to like that mix as well as my scallions and all the flowers. Another question - do you think Miracle Grow is save to use on veggies? (they say it is but I'm Thomas the Doubter )

I've been starting off seeds in an AeroGarden. It does a great job of producing strong, healthy seedlings. I'm thinking of adding a fan to mimic a gentle breeze to prepare the seedlings for transplanting outdoors. IP: Logged |
