Do you know about the research of a man called Jeremy Narby? He was intrigued by the Amazon Indians and their Shamans. He spent years studying them. He was totally amazed at their ability to take a plant that had no curative properties, and then combine it with another unconnected plant from somewhere else in the Amazon and totally cure the disease. When he asked them how they knew just which other plant to combine it with out of the millions of plants in the rainforest, the Shamans looked at him like he was totally mad. They said, the plant always tells us of course . It tells us straight away what it needs to be combined with to cure the disease. I remember reading a book about birds many years ago which explained that birds could see which seeds were poison and which seeds were safe. They seemed to omit colours and auras that only birds could see. Interesting. Which brings me back to the physicist Alain Aspet who has made one of the greatest discoveries since Einstein and in fact disproved the speed of light. He has discovered that under certain circumstances sub atomic particles [ like us ] can instantly communicate even billions of miles apart. Faster than the speed of light. Hmmmmm... I think we are more capable than we ever imagined. Gia IP: Logged |

Gia - I found the Jeremy Narby book; quote: Jeremy Narby's book places the discussion of indigenous knowledge in a deeper philosophical and cosmological framework, arguing for an epistemic correspondence between the knowledge of Amazonian shamans and modern biologists. The argument which Narby make mines and reinterprets many of the sources in anthropology and biology on the subject. Some may argue that what Narby has found is mere chance or metaphoric correspondence, while others will appreciate the subleties and truth value of the argument.
I found this website in Alain Aspect; http://atomoptic.iota.u-psud.fr/EnMain.htm Unfortunately it's in French - are you aware of his writings in English Gia - Oli & I are facinated by this! So much to learn Thank you for bringing this to my attention IP: Logged |
