Hello, forgive me if this comes out all wrong I'm a little timid, but here goes anywho. First off, I'm Eleanore's hubby we've known each other for several years now, and coming up on 1 yr 1/2 of marriage and a bundle of joy named Mathias (HOORAY!) ! Anywho she's been introducing me to the wonders of spirituality since we've been together. It comes slowly though, I'm kinda like a turtle coming out of its shell (hardcore roman catholic upbringing) slowly and carefully I guess. So I'm in the military now and I've realized over time that this is not the good fight they lead me to believe it was, in fact it's evil, part of me considers it a necessary evil but evil nonetheless. So I got about 4 more years left on my enlistment, and my mind has been wandering about how to provide for my family once the free medical and stable job goes out the proverbial window. Eleanore and I have generally the same vision for our family in the years ahead. Although I tend to think a little more eastern and she's um...well she's Eleanore god bless her =) anywho ! So I've been watching her frequent this site for sometime now and I have slowly but surely become more comfortable/interested in the topics discussed, and one in particular today caught my interest. So much in fact, that it inspired me to register and write you this post that perhaps is long overdue. It was a post written in Heathcliffe's corner by our friend Aquastar about natural dogfood recipes. Someone mentioned she should ask Juniperb, I asked my wife who that was and she told me about juniperb and her farm =). Which gave me an epiphany "Hey, instead of wondering and occasionally researching my plans for a simple life post military, why don't I ask the people who would know! =)" So here I am, and that's my intro and yes I'm sticking to it ! ;D So, um, basically Eleanore and I want a farm (still debating on location) that we can organically grow fruits and vegetables for food, and raise animals to help us out and provide us clothing and friendship. Oh yes and I am strongly considering using my free airforce degree towards learning about solar energy, but I have no idea where to start. I'd like our home to be eco friendly (run on solar power) and to convert a elephant bus into a hybrid. So this whole big post was my weird little way of saying hello and please help me understand what I need to study to make this come true. Thanks in advance. ------------------ CupofJoe13 "We are the middle children of history, with no purpose or place. We have no great war, or great depression. The great war is a spiritual war. Hello cupofjoe13/Eleanore's hubby! Nice to meet you! What a sweet first post. Welcome to LindaLand. It's wierd, you sound strangely similar to my ex Taurus. He's a cool dude and is into alot of the same things you are wondering about. What is your Sun Sign? I'll see if I can dig anything up pertaining to your questions. Well, I'm glad you decided to join our little web family. I'm sure others will come along who have some answers to your questions. Eleanore is one of my favorite people here and I know you two and your new addition are destined for a wonderful life together. I wish you all the best! See you around! IP: Logged |
