and its not my kitty. It isn't the alley cat either....I think it's a caterpillar! I can't find it, though, but whatever it is eats big holes in the leaves. I don't want to spray it with anything very strong (I like caterpillars ) so wondering if anyone has suggestions?

Look under the leaves. Find it and just put it outside.

Randall, you make me laugh! It IS outside!! I guess I gotta keep looking and relocate the thing somewhere else. I've been looking under the leaves for days now (it's practically a bush) but to no avail. It must be living somewhere else and commuting when I'm gone . I thought that by planting garlic next to the catnip this year, it would save the leaves from those little bugs, and it did. but this big bug is much more damaging.

mild soapy water misted on the leaves works on most catapiller. It is worth a try. Good luck!!

Randall, do you garden??

No gardening for me. I'd get too emotionally attached.

Funny, when I had my apartment, I planted a cute, nice, little catnip plant for my sweet little cat, Tigre'. Every night, a little stranger would come and eat. It was another cat. That cat really loved the catnip. I was surprised they could smell it so far away.

Okay! I found the little buggers last night (they must've been hiding in the day) and I pulled off the big ones and threw them over the fence to eat weeds. However, there are little ones that are everywhere, so I made a spray bottle of a few drops of soap and water....we'll see how it works - I sprayed the bush good last night!!!

Thanks for the tips, I used both and I think it'll work. My cats thank you too
