Hello everyone! i live on the Gulf Coast of Texas and among the pollution horrors there are some wonderful things happening!! Every year i voluntter for Turtle Patrol and ride an ATV many miles and many hours searching for nesting endangered sea turtles! this year I found the first and farthest North Green Sea Turtle and nest. The nest also had a record number of eggs-130!! The eggs were dug up and kept safe in a turtle lab until the babies were raring to go! We let them go at dawn and with tourists and others watched these half-dollar size babies run for the water!! In 20 years the survivors will reach sexual maturity and come back to nest! This task is so close to paradise and a chance to see that Mother Nature has the chance to win!! Any Sea turtles around where any of you all are? Tell me pleaseIP: Logged |

I Love sea turtles. But where I live I only come across tortises. If I find hatchling I keep them for awhile and feed them fat worms. When they get big enough I set them free. They have so many predators when they are small. Keep up the great work!

Where my inlaws have a place in Palm Coast Florida this same type of activity goes on. They do know people there who do what you do. Its fun and interesting to learn about. My step daughter has adopted a turtle and tracks its whereabouts on the internet. IP: Logged |
