I accidentally left half a green pepper in the lid of a pan in which I was cooking potatoes. When I looked in the lid the next day, the "sweated" pepper had ripened and turned orange.

I suppose I had created the conditions of a tropical rainforest? But it was a HALF of a pepper,so perhaps it was a miracle!
