Just A Tree...

It was Buddha who said:
"A tree is a wonderful living organism which gives shelter, food, warmth and protection to all living things. It even gives shade to those who wield an axe to cut it down."

And Joyce Kilmer immortalised the grace and beauty of trees in poetry:

"I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree."

No, they are not just trees...

I live b-neath a canopy of Druid Flora and a few on this fourm know the lenghts I have gone to to save them...as the neighborhood I reside in has fallen victim to Oak Wilt...

I have hugged them and felt the most blessed reciporication of my love to them...

I hated to treat them with chemicals to stave off the dread disease...but I re-lented to modern medicinal methods...

<sigh>...I SO love my trees...all 60, some of them...

o, and yea...

I REFUSE to trim them, unless they are tearing the shingles off my roof, I let them be and they protect me...and mine.

They have "ball moss" which I really love and find it quite creepy and everybody wants to get rid of....

Let MY TREES BE!!!!

Trees are awesome. They absorb CO2 and give off O. Too bad millions of them are being cut down in the rainforests of the Amazon at an alarming rate!

Imagine the stories that trees would tell!

Stone me for a witch...cannot resist posting this pic, and perhaps messing with the sacred tree god's, but you know, well, ummm, yeah.
mayhap I had an apple thrown at me by a tree in childhood, like Dorothy.

I have made a whole collage of my friends hugging trees.
I made them choose a tree to hug and then took a picture.
I've had people go "I am NOT going to hug a tree" and then minutes later CLICK....lovely photo.
It's my tree of friends!

RE: Zoo tree. I saw detail picks of that one when I found this
Zala, was wondering what you thought about all of that carving not harmin the tree. How a tree could survive that? Love the bike eating tree, and the eye reminds me of band The Cure. My Rohrig Tarot deck has the 9 Swords "cruelty" with an eye and a tear quite like that.
