Is anybody else, here on the earth experiencing drought like we are in the south? In South Texas it has been in the hundreds for days...coming home, just a few hours ago, my car showed 102...I did not even bother to turn on the AC in the car, cause with the sun beating down on us, really does not help that much...well in my little sports car, anyway! (should probably take the truck from now on! ) Even the xerascaped plants are wilting! My "grass" is dead, I do not water it, just trying to keep my roses, herbs, potted plants and what is left from my veggie garden alive. This stinks...gee, we SO need some relief! 2days ago, I saw some storms brewing to the west, I smelt rain!!! I heard thunder!!! I dashed home and got out my rain stick!!! Sigh...well...atleast some of the area got some sprinkles... drought.... water up!!! IP: Logged |

Nope! Me thinks it is an "evolutionary" thing of the planet, in general... I have learned one thing, tho, what will grow down here, deep in the heart of Texas, and what will not...in drought..well, not really "grow" but just live. Whenever I travel to my grandparent's in northern Indiana, one of the first things I do is plant my bare feet in the grass...in the deep, green grass...... ahhhhhhhhhhhh..........what afeeling!!! (thats the Yankee in me! ) IP: Logged |

Hi Hippy. I was listening to Jacques Cousteau's Grand Kids on the radio today...very good interview... one of the many things that they mentioned that I did not know [was] the drought in GA a couple years back....the reservoir for Atlanta had six weeks of water left. The Gov had a mass prayer for water. Remarkable Fresh water is increasingly a luxury resource. I have been around rationing in a minimal manner. Garden hoses, sidewalks, and the like.. many of us will have this come home. Rain Dance will become popular unfortunately. Last week the Pacific Northwest had [Portland] recorded a 105...I thought WTF !! If Portland and Seattle have a record of 105, and similar sways like the winter Britain had...those that think climate change is a 'hoax' and government / conspiracy regulated are missing the point. oops on a rant here.
