I have 7 pairs at my multi feeders !

Can you imagine the stamina??

About stamnina, they fly in a "V" formation, because the ones behind glide on the wind of the ones in front.

Nah... it wasn't that good-kind of inappropriate. LOL

{Was a game that took innocent realistic happy-looking virtual hummingbirds, then turned them to skeet. .. Yes, they weren't 'real' birds--- but I didn't like the idea of destroying them. Even showed the hummingbirds flying in that V formation you were mentioning. I was going to post it .... then, the surprise. Good thing I view the vids to the end. It's very rare if I post something that I didn't watch the whole way through. ... Protecting my peeps, of all kinds!}

Ruby Throated Hummingbirds do not migrate in a flock , (nor do any other hummers )so no V formation.

quote:
Northward Migration
Most Ruby-throated Hummingbirds winter between southern Mexico and northern Panama. Since hummingbirds lead solitary lives and neither live nor migrate in flocks, an individual bird may spend the winter anywhere in this range where the habitat is favorable, but probably returns to the same location each winter

Georgia hummer facts and I am so jealous!!

I am amazed you have never seen one

Georgia is home to 11 hummingbird species during the year: the ruby-throated, black-chinned, rufous, calliope, magnificent, Allen's, Anna's, broad-billed, green violet-ear, green-breasted mango and broad-tailed hummingbird.

The ruby-throated hummingbird is the only species of hummingbird known to nest to Georgia. These birds weigh as little as a first-class letter. The female builds the walnut-sized nest without any help from her mate, a process can take up to 12 days. The female then lays two eggs, each about the size of a black-eyed pea.

A few other interesting facts on hummers that visit Georgia:

The calliope hummingbird is the smallest bird found in North America.
The rufous hummingbird has the longest migration of North American hummers -- more than 3,000 miles!

Here that is lightening bugs or fire flys.

June bugs are a big brown nasty beetle that clutchs you with their feet.

Some years we have an infestation of them when their ground larva hatch all at once.

The larva are the biggest diet of the mole. Ugh
