My guitar teacher has 8 chickens in his back yard. He lives in a suburb kind of neighborhood. He had two roosters but they made too much noise and he had to get rid of them. He brings me a dozen eggs when he comes to over. They taste so delicious.

They bake better, too.

They are his friends. They let him pet them and carry them. He is just going to do the eggs

My older ones run at me now if they see me while they're free ranging.

It was actually kind of scary the first few times.
You walk out the door and just see these animals making a break for you, bounding over the grass with their little heads bobbing. If they're really excited, they'll even leap and bwak.

*slight sigh*

Darn raccoons.

See?
She even started a whole new thread on chickens when mine was, oh, 5 posts down or something, and then let her thread die after I responded.

I love it when people use the word "sheeple".
It lets me know not to take them seriously.

I see the other thread on chickens. I am not that observant because I am usually doing about 5 things at once.

I have 7 laying hens in my back yard (as well as: 7 chicks, 2 turkey poults, 4 adult ducks, 2 ducklings and 2 rabbits). I love having the eggs, and I love watching them all interact. And yes, we have eaten surplus roosters, though all of our hens are still producing eggs and we have no plans on eating them!

I also garden, so having these are just another way of producing food for my family that Monsanto and the government can't touch! (though we do have a drone plane that flies directly over our house at least every two days. We always wave for the camera!)
