Someone told me that you can grow whole pineapples from it but it takes 2 years. Anyone know about this?

I remember my Grand-Mother's and my Aunt doing this.

They used to start Avocado and African Violets the same way.

My Aunt has an Avocado outside that is taller than their telephone pole, I think it froze one year, but it came back.

Pineapple, not so much.

Might take up residence, and that would drive me nuts.

Maybe in a Greenhouse.

But for how long?

You two ladies, stop taunting me with your ability to grow delicious fruit where you live!

Berries are nice and all, but I would love to be able to just...ya know, plant a pineapple tree, haha. (Not gonna happen up here though.)

But I suppose if we move south, at least I'll have the information handy...

I always thought fruit needed seeds to grow. Nature is fascinating!

When i was a kis, our family grew plants from pineapple, avocado, mango, but they never bore fruit. Irradiated foods won't even grow sprouts.

I always wondered about growing pineapple top but never tested the theory.

Let us know if it works.

My sweet friend did this with her pineapple and now has this HUGE potted pineapple plant on her porch. It just looks like a massively overgrown version of the top of the pineapple.

Yup thats true, I don`t know any Pineaple seeds..
And i Imagine plantig it this way it would not take longer if u plant it from a seed (If there is any..)
I harvested Pineapples that way, I want to make a Pinaple plantage, like planting 1000 Pineaples , they are so tasty and don`t need much attention...
I just have to by the seedlings

It was the oddest thing.

This lady just up and asked me out of the blue about this today, and almost word for word told me exactly the same thing about hers.

Also, I remember a plant exactly as described (Pineapple) at my Grandmother's house.

Funny, that lady is the same one born on Linda's birthdate. She even told me her age (again, out of the blue.)

I guessed Thirty Three, but actually it was thirty seven.

I told her you got fruit, Ami Anne.

You have to grow them as you would a bromeliad plant. Takes proper care and lots of patience...

I love bromeliads!

The Coconut falls on the ground and that's it, the pivoting root finds it to the soil and the first sproud finds it to the sun.
Just search for "Sprouding Coconut" in google pics.

That would be a huge seed to have to bury.
