Just saw a racoon climb the fence into my dog pen( and part of my garden) but it was during the day. I didn't think they came out during the day. It was pretty big. I looked out the window and saw him walk away into bushes. They can be rabid, too. I didn't know they come our during the day. I am afraid to go into my yard

There's your varmint.Yup, they're mean. Normally nocturnal. Probably after the pet food, when I came face to face with one outside my patio door, that's what it was eating. It hissed. I would be careful, we had a stray cat that tangled with one, and lost an eye. Daylight is not when they are normally out. IP: Logged |

They have rabid ones around here and we are told to be careful. He was near a standing water thing I have. The hose dripped into this old pot. He looked sick and horrible actually--all grey and awful looking. Oh dear. I am gonna dump the standing water. Thanks for all your help, E. You are amazing! IP: Logged |

Do you think if I put canned jalepenos spread around my fence, that would repel them? I have 3 big dented cans I did not know what to do with. Maybe, this is their purpose lol He looked really awful and he sat down in another part of my yard and walked slowly to bushes that he may be living in--tall, dense ones

He looked it, Randall. He was walking weirdly. Now, I have to fear snakes and him, too ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. It is Free, of course. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Ah, Ami. I'm sorry to hear about that! Yeah, raccoons can be mean! And really vicious, especially with pets, as Ellyn mentioned. We have them around here, but for some reason they've never been much of an issue for us. I ran into one once when I lived in Seattle, near a lake... I was sitting outside on a summer night with bare feet, and he walked by where I was sitting. In my head I was like "Ohhh, how cute!" And then the little turkey hissed at me, and made a short little lunge for my toes! Hmmm...maybe do some research on how you can deter them from areas where you and your pets like to walk in peace? Wishing you the best, I'm sorry I don't have much information to pass along to you. IP: Logged |

I have not seen him in the day since. I see footprints in my garden, not in the enclosed pen but the other parts when I water in the morning.------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. It is Free, of course. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I am doing your compost heap idea under the tree but I sprinkle it with red pepper and it seems undisturbed in the morning. You are an awesome help to everyone, E ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. It is Free, of course. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Ha, just saw a little Bambi at my Peach Tree.Had my very first one last week, and it was oh, so juicy Sweet! Think it's a Babcock Peach, but not sure. This is a little Bambi who has a Breathing Problem, I told my Daughter to shoo it from my Orchard. Guess what she did? They made friends. Kids! Whatcha gonna do? Anyway, I was calling my kitties this morning, and that deer came to me. Ha! Guess it's worth a few fallen peaches, eh? IP: Logged |

I have a friend who rescued a baby deer after its mommy was killed by a hunter. It made friends with the family's dog and liked eating lollipops.IP: Logged |

It was the Cutest Thing!I could hear some leaves rustling outside my window. Figured it was my little Deer. Well, little deer was right. Two little ones with their spots on their backs, So Sweet! I just had to tell you. The other day, I was sitting on my back porch, looking at my Valiant Little Daedalus' paw, and I was just watching the animal world go by; when lo and behold, out comes this Deer! I guess it is bedding down under the Redwood, cause it came out of nowhere... Its little tail was switching in time with the Wind Chime, and it would scope out which Apple it wanted to pick, then go up on it's hind legs and Grab that fruit. I sat there and watched it for about half an hour, as it wandered off down the back yard. This was the little one with the breathing problem. Not sure if that is the Mother or not. ------------------ Love, Ellyn IP: Logged |

I just heard some chittering out the Patio Door, and thought it was those pesky blue jays after my grapes.Had to laugh, it was the cutest little Covey of Quail... Then there's my little Fluffy McWhufficans laying there just two feet away. (Like Snoopy and the Little Bunnies, dancing in the Green.) IP: Logged |

This time, when I heard something outside my bedroom window, it was a Turkey. He was wandering around calling for his errant son. Next thing you know, there's a whole flock coming up out of the bushes. They managed to cross the street, and waited in the Trees, while Pop rounded up the prodigal over by the Redwood. Just as they are about to meet up, here comes my Daughter out the front door, groggy from her nap. I hollered at her to go back in, and they all met up safe and sound, and away across the street they did went... Really, there's quite a lot of wild-life outside my door... IP: Logged |
