Has anyone here grown these? I have one set of seeds each, and I think they may finally be sprouting into little seedlings. I've googled them, and most people seem to love them - I hope they grow well. I have no idea where I'm going to put everything.IP: Logged |

Oops. I forgot I posted this. I don't know if they're developing seedlings. I'm not having as much luck with them, even when they sprout. Bugs getting to them. I've had several things eaten to the point that they can't regenerate. I hope these start to grow soon - I've heard that once they do, they really take off. I really didn't want to fail with the garden this year. IP: Logged |

I know what you mean. I'm pretty bummed out about the slugs getting to almost all of our strawberries! And our lettuce, too! Hope they take off for you soon IP: Logged |

I know they are in the same family with the tomatillos. Those grow on riverbanks, they like a sandy soil. Dry and loose, a sandy soil. We used to have the True Gooseberries up in the Mountains. They are closely related to the Currant. They were an alternate host for the pine blister rust, though. They looked like miniature mace or morning star balls. Always meant to make jam out of those. Never got to it, though. IP: Logged |
