I think I have some in my yard. I am so excited to make a nettles dish. Any tips?

Randall, all day, I was studying it's look alike which is white snakeroot. This is SUPER toxic.

Lincoln's mother died from drinking milk from a cow that ate snake root.

The thistle has spines and it kind of tore up my thumb and I looked really closely and saw little needles on the stem.

The look alike does not have it but it is scary nonetheless lol

Sorry I don't have experience with nettles. They are good for the liver, though.

Nettles taste like spinach but much better. They are amazing.

Sow thistle is amazing too.

They are amazing steamed with a little olive oil and salt!

I am working on the next two--chickweed and day flower.

Perhaps we should cultivate that which is healthiest and most abundant? But that would take all the fun out of discovering and foraging nature's bounty.
