The Asteroids are like Octaves-

The Asteroids are symbolic transformers between the lower octave planet and the higher octave planet. The Table below shows how the asteroids can transform the lower octave vibrations into their higher octave correspondences.

Each ASTEROID PAIR contains a MASCULINE and FEMININE body, each of which represents one POLE of the BI-POLAR principle. The asteroids act as a BRIDGE between lower and higher octave functions ... thereby transforming them.

As defined in MUSIC THEORY ... octaves are two notes that possess the identical harmonic structure but differ in pitch. A lower octave such as a "low C" contains a certain number of vibrations per second, the higher octave such as high C contains exactly twice the vibrations as the lower octave note.

Astrology, the systematic study of the music of the spheres, likewise contains its version of the octave principle ...

These planetary pairs are lower and higher octaves examples ... MERCURY-URANUS ... VENUS-NEPTUNE ... MARS-PLUTO all have similar energy patterns, but they express themselves at different vibrational levels.

Lower octave planets Mercury, Venus, and Mars represent the forces that govern personal growth and awareness.

Higher octave planets Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto denote a more rapid, finely tuned vibration and symbolize cosmic energy that affects humanity as a whole. Their primary meaning is a speeding up of the evolutionary process of the solar system.

MERCURY represents the lower octave of wisdom or mind. The lower mind uses ICARUS to escape conventional thinking which society has programmed you from birth in order to keep the status quo a reality. This allows you to risk thinking outside the box. This change is brought about by the curiosity of PANDORA who has the reputation of being curious as in the story of Pandora's Box. This is the curiosity which initiates change. Once you are free from Conventional Thought and Curious to learn the truth ... next comes URANIA which usesher metaphysical abilities of inspired knowledge such as astrology, music, symbol logic, numerology to complete the bridge to URANUS which represents the higher mind or wisdom principle.
VENUS represents the lower octave of Love or Passion such as the love of a man or woman. This octave is raised by using PSYCHE which is the capacity to be psychically sensitive to "others" this makes you come out of "ego" ... Utilizing SAPPHO from the Isle of Lesbos which has the capacity for romantic sensitivity and the ability to love both men and women equally, this represents the end of duality ... or the beginning of WHOLENESS ... Once you are able to love both half's of yourself you no longer label humans as men or women. Now that you are whole you can use AMOR which gives the capacity for spiritual or brotherly love and compassion. This completes the bridge to NEPTUNE which represents the higher octave of LOVE ... which is the type of LOVE that GOD has for mankind.

MARS represents the lower octave of Raw Power, of Instinctive Desire ... EROS was able to refine and transform Mars' unconscious, instinctual sexual drive into erotic love as a path to spiritual illumination through his romance with Psyche ... LILITH is the Female Warrior who tames the wild beast, Lilith represents the Woman who demands to be treated equally in Relationships. If Lilith is not treated equally in personal relationships, her response will range from complete withdrawal to bickering and sexual manipulation to skillful negotiation and compromise. On the positive side, Lilith teaches us the art of consensus by which the transformative energy of MARS-PLUTO can be used to fuse rather than destroy the relationship ... TORO represents the principle of boundless strength and power and how we handle the power ... TORO describes how we confront and handle the onslaught of violent or negative influences that we experience either from without or from within our own minds ... Knowing how to turn ones enemyinto an ally is indeed a potent power, especially when the enemy lies within your own being! Thus, TOROssecret teaching involves taming the inner power of the bull that resides in each of us and directing it for constructive purposes ... THUS completing the BRIDGE that transforms the raw, instinctive desire of MARS into the controlled, focused, and penetrating power of PLUTO. Now that MARS knows how to LOVE he is able to transform his PASSION into COMPASSION ... Now add a dash of Female DIANA who is the protector of small animals and the weak and add a dash of Male HIDALGO who is the protector of the downtrodden and poor we now have a compassionate MARS who uses his power to protect others ... through these two protectors MARS is able to TRANSFORM into the Higher Octave of JUPITER ...

SATURN represents the STATUS QUO and usually only changes by FORCE kicking and screaming "WHY ME?" ... but when you add a HEALING DOSE of CHIRON to WHERE EVER your INITIAL WOUND is ... CHIRON will make you WHOLE again, this is the end of DUALITY ... This magically transforms SATURN into a person who changes happily because he cannow SEE that the CHANGE is a natural progression and is NECESSARY ... This is how you TRANSFORM Lowly SATURN into the HIGHER VIBRATIONAL OCTAVE of .... URANUS, NEPTUNE and PLUTO these planets denote amore rapid, finely tuned principle of KNOWLEGE ... and symbolize the COSMIC ENERGY that affects HUMANITY as a WHOLE. Their primary meaning is a speeding up of the evolutionary process of the solar system.

Great thread, Gabby.

I would add one thing, though. Valentine (447) is my favorite asteroid, and from my experience it's very strong in synastry. The whole 'true love' and 'sacrificial love' thing seems so powerful, in my opinion, and the dreamy side is there, too. So, I would suggest, as I also remember reading it somewhere, that Valentine is the higher octave of Neptune. What do you think ?

Thank you!
Brilliant Peluches, I totally agree!
I feel Valentine is even more of a sacred love than Amor. Amor is deep but not as deep as Valentine in the way that Amor isn't going to die to save another life like Valentine would. Valentine seems to be less dreamy and delusional than Neptune.
Valentine is more about doing what's necessary in love, to be love, to embody all that love is. No expectation of a return, it almost like it's the duty of love that we gladly accept because we know our reward is the feeling in our heart of pure goodness, our energy vibration elevates and that's our reward. (I have Valentine in my IC by 1 degree)
Sacrificial love is the purist love.
Christ sacrificed, he knew what was going to happen he knew he would be betrayed and die because of it. He could have tried to change it, to stop it. He didn't because it was his responsibility to sacrifice his life to save the lives of humanity. God sacrificed his son for humanity.

Maybe Valentine should go after Neptune?

Exactly !

Valentine conjunct IC is such a beautiful aspect to have ! I also resonate with the sacrificial love energy a lot, especially as I have it in Virgo ! I'm currently living an unrequited love story (that started when Valentine was conjunct the ASC and Anti-Vertex in my progressed chart, all applying under one degree, btw) and although I have accepted that he cannot love me and most probably never will, I will always be there for him, to protect him, to support him, to do anything he wants, because his happiness is what matters the most to me. I don't care if it hurts, honestly. I am willing to face and overcome anything, even to give my life, for him to be happy -- let alone to save his life -- because he is more important than anything else.

And I think that's when the 'illusion' side comes into play. Because when you analyze the feeling of sacrificial love, one part of it is actually simply idealizing the partner, putting him on a pedestal -- while I do agree, nevertheless, that Valentine is not as dreamy as Neptune.

So, yes, Valentine is truly beautiful, and I totally agree it should go after Neptune.

Wow!! I'm so sorry, I hope it gets better!

Regarding Valentine and delusions...I think your right!
There has to be a certain delusion that goes along with sacrificing to your death. Lol
Being a martyr is not exactly the sanest game to play! It involves a lot of spirituality and faith that your intuitions are correct and serve a higher purpose....or your just plain insane and need to be in a hospital!! Lol

But Valentine isn't as wishy washy dreamy as Neptune, Valentine is like the martyr on a mission to save others. Neptune is the intuition that tells him to go on that mission.

This has been my understanding for many years.

VALENTINE is not the higher octave of NEPTUNE, however, as much as PSYCHE is. In my opinion, it's VENUS --> NEPTUNE --> PSYCHE -- > ISIS, as each is a growing evolution of the feminine through to the Divine Feminine.

VALENTINE, on the other hand, is in an 'evolutionary path' all its own, and can be included with the EROS/PSYCHE Midpoint, as it's not representing one of its energies singularly, but together in union.

EROS/PSYCHE --> VALENTINE --> AMOR --> UNION

VALENTINE, as the 'true love' principle is sacrificial, but inherently erotic / romantic. It's the expression of romantic idealism; romantic unconditional love. The stuff of faerie-tales and fantasy. Very powerful. AMOR, on the other hand, is the spiritualised / platonic, 'pure' form of unconditional love. It's once we've transcended the physical form and are no longer attached to the pleasure principle. UNION, then, is the ultimate form of unconditional 'true love'.

If we want to make planetary pictures:

EROS/PSYCHE = VALENTINE
ISIS/OSIRIS = UNION

I'm currently exploring whether or not we can identify a synastry's potential for true union versus its raw capacity for true love. I'm hypothesising that synastries (and composites) capable of producing true union will have UNION strong as well as VALENTINE contacts.

We shall see.

Hmm, just noticed this in terms of midpoints

my EROS/PSYCHE: 731 Taurus
his ISIS/OSIRIS: 731 Taurus

oh and
my ISIS/OSIRIS: 812 Capricorn

Hmm, what is that about?

EDIT
Not wanting to derail this, but I really like the Sabians (well not the ERos/Psyche one int ropical) in the zodiacs - of my midpoints i mean.

EROS/PSYCHE
-----------
tropical (on my Part of Marriage and "Actor"):
A Sleigh On Land Uncovered By Snow

Draco: (on my tropical Parvati)
A Mermaid Emerges From The Ocean Waves Ready For Rebirth In Human Form

sidereal (on my tropical BRIEDE. lol):
A Serpent Coiling Near A Man And A Woman

ISIS/OSIRIS
-------------
tropical:
An Angel Carrying A Harp

I have ISIS conj. OSIRIS conj. Venus in my tropical chart, but the midpoint ends up on the same degree as ISIS herself, so i guess it is tilted towards the feminine prinicple

Draco:
The Music Of The Spheres

sidereal:
The Great Pyramid And The Sphinx

well in this case curiously the midpoint ends up sharing the same degree with OSIRIS, curious, right?

And what a fitting Sabian to have an Egyptian asteroid there!

Yes, it was pretty mindblowing to find that exact midpoint-alignment. however, it would need something on 7 Taurus-Scorpio-Leo-Aquarius to be activated I guess.
