Astrology 2.0 thread! http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum28/HTML/005242.html mirage29haha!!! I recall when the same happened to me, from the time I registered here at LL. First thread I got involved in was a long one on asteroids. You've got Asteroid Consciousness And it's addictive. Will absorb MUCH of your time, for a while. Yes. Doesn't work for all charts, but when it does.... wow. PLUS, You'll get a LOT of insight about your own "psychology" if you explore various 'families' of myths. There are psychotherapists who practice astrology, and use mythology at the base of their practice. They explore asteroid placements in the client's chart, to explore patterns and habits similar to the stories in mythology. The characters are archetypes to be explored.{If you search youtube vids, you can find lectures-- psychotherapists describe client experiences, using the asteroids in practice.}IDEA ---Get yourself a dedicated notebook and journal your personal history in synchronicity to the asteroids.Draw up the charts of asteroid families.Print them out.Either paste it into the pages, or keep a separate binder with the various asteroid families, and an index. I know it sounds like 'work'--in the beginning, setting up a system will require tedious work, but later, will make study EASIER and usable. The results will be rich.Especially if you additionally later go through the effort of creating an index that has your placement included-- for a shortcut. Some people are computer-saavy, and have used accounting-type software to create their own filter-able searchable tool. (Wish I could have done that!! haha)I was shocked with my own asteroid placement families. The myth of Ceres, Persephone, Proserpina, Demeter (those are mixed-family roman greek) describes pieces of my life. Also, the myth of Penelope is strong, for example. (I'm an older person, so, these asteroid stories are a type of forensics-- looking back in the rearview mirror.)You'll be on a journey of analyzing your own subconscious. CAUTION: .. You might not realize how DEEPLY you can become obsessed with what you find. ALSO, beware of narrow one-word limited meanings, because YOUR chart might take a different approach.Just a word of caution... Gently, beware of the inner temptation of accusing people in your life of sex abuse, and of suppressed memories... of someone 'being' an abuser based on asteroids in the chart. This may NOT be true. I have asteroids that (according to what I've seen here at LL) say that my dad sexually abused me?? NO. NOT one bit. It would have been harmful to follow that rabbit trail, wondering IF I had repressed memories. . . Let the meanings refer to your INTERNAL Family Constellation work. . .Be Responsible--- so that you and others don't get "hurt" and led down a 'rabbit hole' by making 'accusations' based on placement of an asteroid. YOUR reality may be different.I've seen members here who have wondered and discussed in a thread here, whether THEY-themselves ARE an abuser??, because of a harsh one-reference-word for an asteroid that happened to conjunct his Sun. That can be hurtful to think of oneself AS that, when it may be FAR from the truth...{Be gentle with yourself.. and others.} You might allow one-word definitions as a "memory-jogger" for deeper research that YOU-yourself have taken the care to delve into. But please please please don't get "locked in" to ONE shallow meaning for the asteroids. They are portals, and doorways for you to investigate-- layer by layer, deeper and more fully. The early pioneers in astrology had done years of research to 'prove' the meanings they have published in various texts. AND, asteroids can have MULTIPLE meanings that flower and change, with the more life experience you have. It's very surprising, and can be rewarding IF you handle it 'loosely' and ALLOW the meanings to take on multiple uses. I'm GLAD for you!!Be careful you don't get too overly absorbed to the point of COMPULSIONS about it!! Feeling OCD, mania??? Thank you kindly for the abundance of info. I will come back and finish reading everything in a little bit. I've definitely become obsessed. Lol. Several people have now told me to purchase that Asteroid Goddess book you mentioned! So I will. *heads off to repost this to other forums* VeronicaNicoleHi Mirage 💗How have you been? You always give such helpful thorough responses. I found the following to be incredibly important, especially when dealing with asteroids. I don't think people realize just how dangerous that kind of black and white thinking can be.I consider myself a free thinker & even I can find myself going down that rabbit hole (I like that term lol I use it all the time. I go down lots of bunny holes) after awhile you know to keep some rope handy in order to pull yourself back out. I will get locked onto someone's interpretation and start to worry myself. Now a days I tend to avoid people or articles who speak and think in absolutes. It is incredibly difficult for me to want to listen to this kind of source since it has already shown itself to be corrupted and un trustworthy. It is like when "jounalists" fart out these completely biased news articles. Just give me the facts. I am perfectly capable of forming my own opinion thank you. quote:CAUTION: .. You might not realize how DEEPLY you can become obsessed with what you find. ALSO, beware of narrow one-word limited meanings, because YOUR chart might take a different approach.I have noticed a few of the more active posters on LL speaking like this & it makes me a little sad somewhat because I have learned alot from some of them. I am obviously not going to name names. Ik they don't mean any harm. It's just hard to watch smart people act stupid.I plan to start doing readings professionally sometime in the near future, I am in the very early stages. It is absolutely rage inducing to see all sorts of fraud astrology/tarot/psychic readers pretending they have a clue just so they can make a quick buck off someone. Now there is this person who may have been skeptical of this sort of thing going in then some hack basically ruins that person's belief or trust in thise of us with real skills and gifts. So that being said, how I express myself is almost as important as the actual contents of the reading. I would want a reader who is confident in themselves obviously but there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Someone talking like "this is how you are & this is what I know" even if they were correct I doubt I would make it far in the reading before I opened my mouth. I don't like a stranger talking to me as if they fully believe they know me best. Now someone talking like "OK this is what I see here..." or "I can't help but feel you tend to go after this kinda person or that kinda person" am I making any sense? Just subtle things. I want people to believe in astrology the way I do.I replied to another one of LovelyAries' threads right before this one and I was talking about nessus and channeling it's energy positively. We have this thing called free will. I refuse to see my nessus as only being able to abusive. Yes it obviously can create an abusive energy but what are the alternatives. Nessus and dejanira have been pretty significant to me in recent months. My abuse is verbal. But I never use my nessus selfishly or with ill intent. Uh uh no my psyche doesnt even understand that at this point. Mine I try to use in a just manner. Like a tough love. If I am standing up for myself or someone else. Idk..it's a balancing act.I think some scarring experiences can be a good thing. It keeps us from doing the unhealthy things that earned us a scar. For the past few months God has been tossing me several things a day that challenge my nessus. I will admit that it can be empowering at times but other times I kind of look back and feel somewhat ashamed of myself. I have been channeling that energy non verbally the past few nessus incidents. But in all seriousness, have you and the other mods ever discussed putting a sticky that cautions users from fear based thinking or advice? Or do we already have one that I didn't see? Idk..just thought I'd mention it 😁💙💜------------------《 《 《 I AM 》 》 》 http://imgur.com/a/LTu1xEzMoonMystic I strongly disagree that this board is losing it's edge. In fact all the boards here have drastically slowed down. I think due to the world stage now. Most people are otherwise involved elsewhere. Even sitting there and lurking possibly, as we have reached a time where many may not wish to be attacked. There's so much division, no matter the topic. Some might be sensitive to a negative reaction or fear of one. As far as the asteroid research, I don't think we have to build ourselves around them, they enhance our blueprints. They DO seem to catch-fire, to become addictive. --- "bunny trails".Absolutely!! I agree with what you said.(You're a Good writer, and your thoughts are deep, and sophisticated.)As you noted Veronica --It's important to know yourself, and to Balance yourself.Do asteroid self-care as needed!! LOLKnow WHEN you need to take a break--Your Story! . .After a while...You might 'find' that a certain story, a certain group of themed myths will speak about your Life more than other myths. Explore what happened in your life, related to it. A group of the basic asteroids have their returns after 4 or 5 years. You might look at any repeats of what happens in your life every 4 to 5 years? The asteroids (in signs, and in houses) will be visited by transiting Sun, Moon, Mercury once a year. Like Stonemoon had said in another thread, you get to know 'the feel' of them. You may grow 'into' the other themes in later decades of your life. Remember--- as time goes by, our life can change!Knowing which HOUSE these asteroids highlight adds MUCH to how they operate.I use Placidus Western. For me, it's more precise. Some like Whole House... which seems to change it up a bit.One of the keys of getting to know your chart is to consistently use ONE house system until you've nailed 'how' the chart speaks to your life. Think of it like learning a language--Yes, the "romantic languages" are a GROUP of languages that use similar words with similar meanings; HOWEVER, in order to master 'one' language, you need to learn how they're used, in appropriate syntax and context. If you learn (for example) French, and someone gives you a text in Portuguese, Italian, you might already recognize some of the basic words, from knowing the meaning of it in your 'one' language. It's best to be able to communicate and be proficient in 'one', so you can be consistent. In Astrology, some house systems are 'close' to an other; easier to shift it in your mind, when the inner house cusps may only be 2 to 5 minutes different from each other. That's one of the fluky things about working on people's charts. If I'm using Placidus Houses, and someone else is relating the asteroid to a much-different system (without saying so) then that can make communications fuzzier---hmmmm, Bunny? .. I was shocked with my own asteroid placement families. The myth of Ceres, Persephone, Proserpina, Demeter (those are mixed-family roman greek) describes pieces of my life. Also, the myth of Penelope is strong, for example.
(I'm an older person, so, these asteroid stories are a type of forensics-- looking back in the rearview mirror.)
You'll be on a journey of analyzing your own subconscious.
CAUTION: .. You might not realize how DEEPLY you can become obsessed with what you find. ALSO, beware of narrow one-word limited meanings, because YOUR chart might take a different approach.
Just a word of caution... Gently, beware of the inner temptation of accusing people in your life of sex abuse, and of suppressed memories... of someone 'being' an abuser based on asteroids in the chart. This may NOT be true. I have asteroids that (according to what I've seen here at LL) say that my dad sexually abused me?? NO. NOT one bit. It would have been harmful to follow that rabbit trail, wondering IF I had repressed memories. . . Let the meanings refer to your INTERNAL Family Constellation work. . .Be Responsible--- so that you and others don't get "hurt" and led down a 'rabbit hole' by making 'accusations' based on placement of an asteroid. YOUR reality may be different.I've seen members here who have wondered and discussed in a thread here, whether THEY-themselves ARE an abuser??, because of a harsh one-reference-word for an asteroid that happened to conjunct his Sun. That can be hurtful to think of oneself AS that, when it may be FAR from the truth...{Be gentle with yourself.. and others.}
You might allow one-word definitions as a "memory-jogger" for deeper research that YOU-yourself have taken the care to delve into.
TAKE A BREAK! ...
Tell yourself-- You're allowed to take a break when you're over your head and it seems to be controlling your life.

Asteroid Goddesses: The Mythology, Psychology, and Astrology of the Re-emerging FemininequoteThis fully updated edition of a beloved classic shows how the discovery of the asteroids Ceres, Pallas Athena, Juno and Vesta coincided with the shift of woman’s role and power in society and symbolize the reactivation of the feminine principle. The inclusion of these four goddess named asteroids in chart analysis expand the scope for the expression of feminine energies beyond the Moon and Venus. The creating, supporting, nurturing aspect held by the goddess Ceres, the Universal Mother, embodies the principle of unconditional love. Pallas Athena is our Warrior Goddess, a woman in a man’s world, carrying the principle of creative intelligence. Vesta, the Goddess of Focus and Commitment is our High Priestess. Juno, the Queen of Heaven and Divine Consort, is our capacity for meaningful relationships.. . The Asteroid Astrology forum is no longer acting as "the" designated place for gathering asteroid posts anymore.
Over the past few months, following the mods, Asteroids {and any body or point that comes under this general heading} are now deliberately mixed-into the regular Astrology 2.0 threads and discussions. No longer any distinctions.
This subforum is no longer really-actually being utilized according to its original purpose. Many of the persons who had 'worked' in this forum are no longer registered members. Just an observation.
Boundaries between choosing to post in Asteroid Astrology and the Astrology 2.0 forum seem NO LONGER being honored.
Go fer it.... Post here, or there--- Doesn't matter.
Maybe use the LL Search Engine to find more asteroid discussed in the other forums now.
I'm wondering if this forum will eventually be Closed--and moved to the bottom list on the main menuas an Archived Forum used for Reference Only in the future.

I will come back and finish reading everything in a little bit. I've definitely become obsessed. Lol. Several people have now told me to purchase that Asteroid Goddess book you mentioned! So I will.
*heads off to repost this to other forums*
How have you been?
You always give such helpful thorough responses. I found the following to be incredibly important, especially when dealing with asteroids. I don't think people realize just how dangerous that kind of black and white thinking can be.
I consider myself a free thinker & even I can find myself going down that rabbit hole (I like that term lol I use it all the time.
ALSO, beware of narrow one-word limited meanings, because YOUR chart might take a different approach.
I have noticed a few of the more active posters on LL speaking like this & it makes me a little sad somewhat because I have learned alot from some of them. I am obviously not going to name names. Ik they don't mean any harm. It's just hard to watch smart people act stupid.
I plan to start doing readings professionally sometime in the near future, I am in the very early stages. I want people to believe in astrology the way I do.
I replied to another one of LovelyAries' threads right before this one and I was talking about nessus and channeling it's energy positively. Idk..it's a balancing act.
I think some scarring experiences can be a good thing.
Idk..just thought I'd mention it 😁

As far as the asteroid research, I don't think we have to build ourselves around them, they enhance our blueprints. If they were literal, I'd be Nefertiti! I know 'duh' I am not any such person. I just feel we should study any part of astrology we feel drawn towards - even asteroids!
Did you have anything to add in response to my questions? Otherwise, I'd like to stay on topic. Thanks.
Yet again... we are in sync. I'm not a fan of astrologers (or people in general) who think in extremes. It's toxic AF. My energy is *precious* and I'm careful about what I take in.
It's all about perspective and HOW you channel your energy. Being growth-oriented. Grown folks know this.
I like you!
I just wanted to come back and thank you again. It takes a lot of effort to type all of that out and share with us. I appreciate you for it!
Do you have any deep experience with any of my placements above?

I will LEAVE this topic to you but a spoon full of vinegar certainly isn't the nicest way of asking.
Last thought - if the types are going to be like this (Minus a person or two here), I probably wouldn't give a fig if this whole board were scrapped.

Okay. Lol.
Good Day.

No arrogance. I'm simply uninterrested in interacting with you on any level.
You are a self-centered phony. And a rude crybaby. Pathetically making my post about YOU instead of actually adding to it.
Please do as you said you were going to and LEAVE.
”As far as the asteroid research, I don't think we have to build ourselves around them, they enhance our blueprints. If they were literal, I'd be Nefertiti! EVERYONE expands from his/her own standpoint and that's how we understand the asteroid or ENERGY. So my pulling that about me - nope. A little reference in how I'm not some goddess that my chart could emphasize.
Ciao
If we truly knew, understood, felt, and realized how unbelievably connected we all are to each other, and on such a deep level, would we still feel a need or urge to tear each other down, I wonder?
Perhaps it would be a bit like the left hand banging the right pinky with a hammer--pointless and causing the larger self that we all make up, unnecessary pain?
Suggestion, for your consideration:You might want to edit the OP (first post),and leave the LINK to the other thread (transferred from Astrology2.0 to this Asteroid Astrology forum) at the bottom of your first post.
This would be for YOUR easy reference, by keeping the conversations grouped together (by links). Makes it easier later, when you want to summarize info about your own chart.
Really, keep a notebook. It will centralize your chart's info.
And be sure to explore the links provided in my first reply. Your Understanding will deepen.Amaaazzzing litte rocks!

yeah.. gets confusing when asteroid topics are left spread-around the website. There's still some threads that could have been collected to 'this' forum, but .. I guess it depends.
________Happy that your other thread containing the WORD "Asteroids!" in the Topic's title, has arrived.. .This is the Link to the "hotdam Asteroids!"- http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum28/HTML/005242.html
The name of THIS thread is "hot freaking damn!", -- You Are Here --
Loved the topic.. so appropriately in-the-moment expressive!! That's how I felt too.
*~VeronicaNicole added to the discussion on the 'subjective' experience of someone engaging in the study of asteroids. They DO seem to catch-fire, to become addictive. --- "bunny trails".
Absolutely!! I agree with what you said.(You're a Good writer, and your thoughts are deep, and sophisticated.)
As you noted Veronica --It's important to know yourself, and to Balance yourself.Do asteroid self-care as needed!! LOLKnow WHEN you need to take a break--
Your Story! . .After a while...You might 'find' that a certain story, a certain group of themed myths will speak about your Life more than other myths.
Remember--- as time goes by, our life can change!
Knowing which HOUSE these asteroids highlight adds MUCH to how they operate.
I use Placidus Western. For me, it's more precise.
Some like Whole House... which seems to change it up a bit.
One of the keys of getting to know your chart is to consistently use ONE house system until you've nailed 'how' the chart speaks to your life.
If I'm using Placidus Houses, and someone else is relating the asteroid to a much-different system (without saying so) then that can make communications fuzzier---hmmmm, Bunny? ..
Happy Trails

A great book to read by one the aforementioned, although he did not use asteroids, psychotherapist astrologers would be Through the Looking Glass by the late Richard Idemon. He goes into a lot of detail about mythology, symbols, archetypes and the relationship between these and psychological development with relationship to astrology.
