T O P I C R E V I E WariestigerMr. Aqua and I were having a conversation yesterday in which I realize that I form very strong attachments to people, almost idolizing them. I did it with both my parents, before they fell off their pedestals, ha ha. Actually, that's not funny, I got very distressed and disillusioned when that happened, when I found out they were not as wonderful as I thought, in fact, that they were quite unpleasant. But for a while I still idolized them, even though I secretly hated them. I was the same with Mr. Aqua in the early stages of our marriage, he was about 6 years older than I was and seemed so much more knowledgeable, and I looked up to him, I felt that he could protect me. He wasn't keen on my relationship with my parents, he thought it was unhealthy. This, until I ceased communicating with both of them, as I found them just too unpleasant for words. Six months after I had stopped communicating with my mother as well as my father, Mr.Aqua started physically abusing me and saying "you've got to be nice to me, I'm the only friend you've got". Instantly he fell off his pedestal and my love just plummeted. I think what he was doing was actually a symptom of his own depression at the time, he was projecting it onto me. I have since become more aggressive, so he knows I will not just take it, there is more of a balance of power. Actually, it was probably a good thing that what happened did, because it gave me more confidence in myself, I felt that I was the only person who I could ultimately rely on, and - of course - that's true. So the outcome wasn't all bad.But I do still have a tendency to idolize people, for example, I have an enormous crush on somebody, and I am trying to see the reality and not just an illusion. Of course, having a crush makes me feel wonderful. So do I ultimately need someone to worship? (Do we all?)My Neptune is in Sagittarius in the 3rd, if that's any help. I also have a ton of Pisces in my chart.LOLAriesTigerGingerBI'd have to say from a Pisces perspective that these things are more than likely coming from the Pisces within you.I am a bit of a 'worshipper' as well.YinI do (need someone to worship) I also think that it's my Neptune is Sag in my case conjuct SunpixelpixieI feel similarily, but mine is less worship, more crush.I need to be actively crushing on someone, and living in illusion. It takes the edge off those normal things...makes them more palatable. I will crush madly on many, and love it to be reciprocted. (* Not necessarily physically) My Neptune is conjunct Venus in my fifth house, in Sagittarius.ariestigerHmmm, I think we're fairly unanimous about Neptune in Sag.Bob Marks seems to be pretty convinced of its effects, too trillianI'm with Pixie. I like having the crush.Otherwise, I like a man to worship me. On his knees. Where he belongs. trillianbtw, ariestiger, I'm sure you've heard this before, but proceed with caution with Mr. Aqua. He physically abused you? This rarely happens only once. What an ugly thing to say/do to you. sthenriI think I can worship anyone at all for a while, the sad thing is that it goes away on it's own, never to return. For me hate and love can not coexist, even with Venus in Aries, I feel one side has to win. Like you said Ariestiger, you learned to stand on your own, and so it was a growing experience with you. Now your lesson is to stand on your own AND be in love at the same time. New experience, independent woman in love. What do you want to do with him? Travel? live with him? If you do either it will take some of the illusion off which is a good thing, and then he can get to know you. NatashaScotScorp @ TrillianI have Neptune in Sag in the 4th. I do, like PP, have alot of crushes... and most of them return the interest. I'd say that was as close as I get to "worship" with anyone. Now,when he shows the slightest hint of getting that way, I fly for him, and he's actually quite amazed. The thing is, his temper is so cool that when he really becomes enraged, you have no warning. I don't idolize him any more, I do try to keep a level head about him and me. At the same time I try to look for the positive sides to our relationship - when they do happen they are fantastic and I realize why I married him and I feel so incredibly close to him, but at other times I curse him like crazy. Counselling I have found to be enormously beneficial in terms of dealing with the relationship, I think it has prevented me from getting too angry at times and provoking him in turn/turning into a complete basket case.(Everyone on here must think Mr. Aqua and I have a really odd relationship!!)Natasha,I would like to have fun with him and enjoy his company. I don't really feel I want to put any pressures on him - or me. He has tons of creative energy, which totally invigorates me and gives me an inner glow, we can communicate about creativity in a way that I can't with Mr Aqua, who is not terribly creative. It is a tremendous, totally new experience for me. I do feel much stronger, more confident than when I fell for Mr. Aqua, I suppose because I am not looking for the same level, or type, of support. So I suppose I am at rather a crossroads at present. I also have to ask myself, do I WANT to remove all of the illusion? Is it an illusion at all?
