T O P I C R E V I E WtamingchaosSo I've been lurking here a while and thought it wouldn't hurt to say hello. I've just recently gotten interested in Astrology though I've been reading Linda no for over 15 years (was high school really that long ago?).I don't know why I never felt motivated to learn more about astrology...I've always felt it was interesting. I think it's the math. I'm not a big math fan and I thought Astrology had A LOT of math involved. I've gotten to the point though that even if it does I want to find out more. ONe fo the reasons i decided to pull myself out of lurkerhood. I'm studying different sites hoping to learn some here and there.I did have a question. Nothing about a chart :-P. I'm wondering if people would be willing to list their top three beginners books or learning tools they've used or discovered for astrology. Oh, I know i'll do a lot more reading than a few books but I'm looking for the best place to start. Any suggetions on what you consider the best 3 places to start will be great apprecitated. Thanks again. I look forward to getting to know each of you and learning all that I can.SattvicMoonHello and Welcome to LindaLand. I am sure someone knowledgeable will surely help you out.katatonicAlan Oken, the complete astrology (i think the subtitle is As Above, So Below) and Grant Lewi Astrology for the Millions and Heaven Knows What - but you know Linda lists MANY resources in her books and a lot of them are great places to start. Both Oken and Lewi are great writers who helped me to conceptualize the wheels within wheels that make astrology so fascinating...or you could go to a bookstore with a good astrol. section and see what grabs you!!! have fun! and welcome...blue moonGood thread question, I hope you get plenty of answers, it would make a great resource tool. My favourite book is by James Braha, "how to be a Great Astrologer", it is full of depth about the different aspects and how they work: http://www.amazon.com/How-Great-Astrologer-Plan etary-Explained/dp/0935895027/ref=pd_bbs_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1201550915&sr=8-4 Online I like: http://www.cafeastrology.com/ http://www.astrologyweekly.com/ and because life is too short to sit around doing paper calclations: http://www.astro.com Azalaksh to LL, tamingchaos Look Ma -- No Math!!!!Please go to www.astro.com. I'm a new poster, too. This is a nice place. And I wouldn't worry too much about "the maths" (as Gwenyth Paltrow likes to say). I suck at math, but find the applied math required for astrology to be a snap. You'll get the hang of it.------------------"You stay young as long as you can learn, acquire new habits and suffer contradiction."
