T O P I C R E V I E WAmi AnneI am fascinated by the Angles (ASC, IC, DSC and MC)I KNOW that no part of the chart can be taken separately, and it is an artificial way to deal with the chart, but we must for learning purposes.Hence, I want to pose some things about the Angles, for discussion. We did a thread on the DSC, which seems to be the traits we admire in a partner(others) but not the sign to which you are attracted, per se(often)So, with the IC, was that the feeling of your childhood home and the MC is how you face the world?I know we have had this discussion before, often started by me However, I think this subject has endless fascination, so here it is, again, for all who care to comment.------------------Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/Dreaming111Ami, what do you think of Venus sextile someone's Ascendant? Ami AnneIn natal or synastry?------------------Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/GirlinSeattleI would also like to add that I'm fascinated with the angles. Is the Midheaven more of a public image versus the IC, a private image? Also, what do you guys think of the interaction between two individual natal charts that have focused planets in opposite angles? For example, one natal chart has planets concentrated near the IC and the other natal chart concentrated near the MC interacting with the other? This goes the same for ASC/DSC. Would these two tend to do a balancing act? Since the IC is associated with the 4th house, how would that play out? Also, what about in synastry angle conjuncts. In any combination? I did read in a Liz Greene book that when a planet hits an angle, it *fills* that particular angle. But what if it's angle to angle then? Though, total know it all at times! haha The ones I know are not the settling down type. So I end up thinking of them as a friend and nothing more, cause I enjoy their company. I notice too. Whenever I see a girl and get those 'I must become her friend' voice in my head they are usually a Sagittarius or something in sag. The guy I'm with has nothing in Sag, but my Juno is in Scorpio and he has a lot of that going on.My guy has his DC in Taurus. I'm now leaning more toward the transit effects on natal charts and progressed synastry. Maybe that's where it lies. Lastly I am still trying to figure mine out. sweet-scorpionI feel like planets elevated above the IC, either close to the MC from the 9th, on the MC or close to the MC from the 10th are what we could not as easily express in childhood... our it's what we reach for as we grow older, what we want to show others versus hide and keep to ourselves. The opposite of Cancer is Capricorn, the sign of practicality and production. We want to WORK on these planets, shape them, present them at their best. We want to display these planets and will inevitably display them as we work with them in the outside world. Cancer, the IC, begs us to keep things secluded, safe and private... if we have our Moon in the 4th, we do not involve our emotions and deep rooted, Cancerian feelings of home and the heart out for the world. We do all we can to shelter it and keep it to ourselves. Cancer is the crab and the crab has a shell in which it hides. 4th house planets tend to be deeply rooted and not for purposes in the world of practicality, travels, our professions and worldly achievements. I have no 4th house planets. I do not have anything to hide from the world. I have the Moon close to my MC from the 9th w/ Chiron and the Sun close to the MC from the 10th. My Sun-Moon MP is my MC. I feel deeply and strongly about making a difference in society through poetry, astrology, my writing and my art. I feel these gifts MUST be shared with the world and are not appreciated enough at home. I also have a personal theory that planets elevated near, or on the MC are what we feel were not as appreciated at home, not as vital at home or in the childhood.... it would make sense in my case. I always felt like people did like my artistic talent, and my writing, but were so superficial about it. I also felt like no one ever stood my heart [my Moon] and the true depth of my feelings, so I want to share that with the world.
I KNOW that no part of the chart can be taken separately, and it is an artificial way to deal with the chart, but we must for learning purposes.
Hence, I want to pose some things about the Angles, for discussion.
We did a thread on the DSC, which seems to be the traits we admire in a partner(others) but not the sign to which you are attracted, per se(often)
So, with the IC, was that the feeling of your childhood home and the MC is how you face the world?
I know we have had this discussion before, often started by me
However, I think this subject has endless fascination, so here it is, again, for all who care to comment.
