As I mentioned a few threads ago, I got a natal chart done by a professional Astrologer. However I've been reading deeper into the subject, and now am really anxious about this report.
Ebert Wade stated on his site that one thing commonly done by "Keyboard Astrologers" is that they search stuff on the web or use a computer-generated program and copy and paste its content onto their customer's "Individualized Natal Report", mailing or e-mailing it to them as though they did their own individual analysis of the customer's chart.
So I decided to search content on the report the Astrologer has given me and made a discovery a large portion of them existed on the internet months, if not years, before I got my reading!
To put as an example, here are some things on my report you can search online.
BALANCE OF ELEMENTS
WATER STRONG
You speak from your heart, and are a compassionate and caring person with a strong intuitional nature. You value your personal relationships, in which you often taking on a caretaker role. You are such a sympathetic and understanding person that you are often caught in the role of mother to your loved ones. Your weakness lies in the fact that you fail to take an objective perspective when necessary. You can often react without thinking things through first.
THE MOON IN LEO
You have an emotional need for praise and attention.
Under stress you may show off in order to gain attention. You may be very proud of your mother, and/or she may be very proud of you.
VENUS IN PISCES
You yearn to merge and be at-one with your partner. In fact you want to be at-one with the universe. You also enjoy sharing inspirational activities with your partner, ranging from listening to beautiful music to visiting an art gallery.
Just copy and paste any of the three above and you can find the stuff been on the web for months, if not years before my Report was made!
FYI the Report was made in this month of October.
Now its a good thing I haven't paid any actual money and used the electronic Credits that came for free when joining the site. Its equivalent to less than $2 when the credits I used are converted into real dollars However the Astrologer told me that she normally charges $20 for a Natal Report and Chart. The Reports is 10 Pages long.
When I realize a large portion of it is found online, I can't help but feel so damn lucky I got the report via a bid using free electronic credits rather than using my own money.
I'm curious was what the Astrologer sent me a plagiarized work? Is such a thing actually common in Astrology and while it would be plagiarism in other fields, it wouldn't be in Astrology?Would you say the Astrologer who made the chart is a fraud?
If you're interested in seeing the full chart, post here and I'll try to email you it.
I must know if what just occurred is ethically wrong within the Astrology world, if not fraud?Or is this common practice?
