12thhouser | Saturn isn't about a lack of something, it's about where the individual needs to instill limits and create structure. Not where they may be limited, but the area of their life where limits may be necessary. It seems some people are either under the impression (or giving the impression) that Saturn is about lack rather than a concentration of energy needing limits and structure. |
northvirgo | cool. what about retrograde saturn in scorpio? |

"Saturn in Scorpio retrograde can be very secretive and extremely intuitive." From this site: http://www.astro-vision.org/audiocharts/monroe/03saturn/03saturn.html Putting this and what I said above together, my only guess at the moment is that the individual may need to make sure they don't get carried away with their intuition (intuition in general), and that they don't keep secrets at their expense. |

Kerosene | I have saturn in aquarius, I read aquarius is suppose to be the mooltikona sign for saturn. |

It's the traditional ruler, yes. |
Kerosene | In Vedic astrology its suppose to be the strongest placement for saturn besides libra |
12thhouser | Not Capricorn, too? It's been a while since I've read up on Vedic astrology. |
Kerosene | According to vedic Exaltation - 100% strength Mooltrikon - 90% strength Own Sign - 80% strength |

Found a site that describes this a bit: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Astrology-2205/2009/5/Exalted-Vargottama-Mooltrikona.htm but the site doesn't appear to explain the difference between Mooltrikon and Own Sign. The way Mooltrikon is described, it sounds like what you'd think Own Sign would be. |
Kerosene | Yeah its is the same thing but think about it like this. Venus ruled by Taurus and Libra but venus in libra always gives better qualities for venus. Mooltrikon is like the upgraded estate a planet owns |

Well, I've actually heard that it's not a matter of better qualities from one sign versus another, but that the planet rules one sign during the day, the other at night. Even that, though, feels too compartmentalized to me. Too left-brained. I think there's a greater flow to astrology than that. But, that's me. |
Jessica2407 | In the 7th house, saturn gets directional strength in vedic astrology. |

Fair enough, but what does Saturn getting directional strength in the 7th house have to do with Venus having better qualities in Libra over Taurus? (if that's the connection you were making). The thread is about Saturn, and Venus in Libra vs. Taurus was brought up, but I'm not seeing your connection here. |

oh I was just putting a word about Saturn. The natural 7th house Libra is ruled by Venus, wherein Saturn is exalted..According to Vedic, Saturn, Venus and Mercury are what they called 'Friends'. But the relationship of Saturn and Venus is special, they have an inherent connection between them.It is said that they have come to each other's rescue more than once and they usually watch over each other's back, of course according to Hindu mythology. Venus has two rashis, taurus and Libra, one represents 'bhoomi' ( earth) and 'vayu' (air). Saturn is not exalted in taurus because it has total control over air (Libra). There is also the possibility that Saturn is exalted in 'kumbh rasi', i.e aquarius since the latter is of 'vayu' element. The overall character of Saturn coincides with that of Libra "tula', both are judicial in their dealings. Libra rules the west direction, that is the 7th house, wher Saturn achieves 'digbala' directional strength and becomes really powerful. |
somethingexcellent | S-turn is great, and people need to step up to plate when they're challenged by his transits or natal placements. But then again he's like a butler or guardian or something to my Venus, so... |
