hannaramaa | On a scale of 1-10 how prominent would Mars inconjunct Pluto be in a natal chart? |
Faith | Depends on the orb. If it's exact, it could be a 9, in my (amateur) opinion. I have sun quincunx Mars with 0.15 orb, and it's so noticeable. |
hannaramaa | Orbs. Can you believe I've been here this long and cannot, for the life of me, care or remember how to figure those out! Just a second while I do some googling. |

basically.. how close the degrees are.. an orb of 2, for example, would be 2 degrees apart |
hannaramaa | Mars is at 16.5 degrees Gem and Pluto is 14 degrees Scorpio. I *think* it's an orb of less than 2? |

Not for a quincunx aspect though? I'm assuming you mean the difference between the two planet's own degrees? |

Yes, if Pluto is exact at 14 Scorpio. If Pluto goes beyond 14.5, then it's over 2 degrees orb. So this quincunx does count, and with that orb range, I would judge it around a 7, on your scale.

Faith | My Mars is also at 16 Gemini, my sun is a late 15 Cap. So my sun and your Pluto make yods with our Marses. Just to complicate everything for fun. |

RoseLily | IMO 2 orbs degree is wide for a quincunx :/, especially one involving an outer planet. However, if Pluto aspected the luminaries, chart ruler or ascendant, I may go up to 4, but 2 is very wide and I would only consider it as minor, unless it is involved into a strong pattern like a yod for example... |
Faith | Really? I never heard of 2 degrees being too wide for anything, except maybe a combust or cazimi But who has them?? LOL Astrodienst: quote: An aspect of 150 degrees between two planets. The quincunx is thought to be one of the most important minor aspects. It is valid with an orb of up to three degrees. Even astrologers who do not usually work with minor aspects often include quincunx aspects in their interpretations. The quincunx is classified neither as a harmonious nor as an aspect of tension. It indicates potential that is difficult to realise. In contrast to the square or opposition it doesn't usually feel like a significant source of tension, demanding action.

http://wiki.astro.com/astrowiki/en/Quincunx [/QUOTE] Valid with an orb of up to three degrees So a Quincunx is valid between 147 and 153. One degree less and you're in Bi-Quintile territory, one degree more and you're in Tri-Septile (154.285714) territory. Wait a second.. the orbs for the Quintile series of aspects is 3 degrees too. So the valid range of a Bi-Quintile is between 141 and 147.. that number.. 147.. I don't know what it is, but something tells me that it should be its own aspect.. |

Er...yods? I've seen them mentioned before but how do yods even show up in our lives? |
Soltze | Yods? In my case they give me all kind of weird problems in the house where the appex is. Like coincidences but not the good kind |
