PaulMcFly | Is having a planet in the 1st house the same as having it conjunct your ASC? Even if it didnt make a cusp aspect natally? Like a Scorp ASC 9 Degree and Pluto in Sag (all 1st house) Or Libra MC 16 Degree Mars in Scorp (All 10th house) |
DopGang | This is how I think of it. (Just my quirky thinking. ) Having a planet in first is like having it placed in the doorway to your home. They open the door and, "whoa. There's Pluto right there before seeing the rest of the home." Having it conjunct asc is like having it hung on the front door so people see it before they even knock.

The same No,, Think degrees of influence and then realize degree for year in the most formative years. Whether an outer planet or a personal planet, within 4 degrees is much different than say 5 to 15 from asc but even if as u suggest in 2nd house sign(values) still very formative years. My self 24li asc,Neppers 9sc, but neppers squared by Venus(signifying sign on asc) so the distance from meant maybe nothing because the aspect cinched in the energy. I think the very close aspects to asc in natal(less than 5 degrees) are so engrained in the person they are less conscious of the energy themselves as part of the personality. Or rather the more time to exercise it(5 years or 10-15 years) before it slips into true 12th hs in sp, the more the energies of that planet are developed in the psyche of that person. Tight conjunctions to the asc vary so much with what planet is there, as it may smother the energies of sign on asc(aspect dependent of course) whereas those planets RISING but not in close conjunction must blend rather than smother. I hope this deepens your thought without leaving you in the dark recesses of your mind. ------------------ LeekingChee |
PaulMcFly | So would Pluto still have an effect on your appearance in this case. |
athenegoddess | I have a Libra ASC with Pluto in Scoprio in the 1st house but conjunct my 2nd house cusp. Pluto does affect my appearance. |
Aries23Degrees | A planet conjunct the Asc is having a tattoo on your face; its really hard to miss or get rid of. A planet in the 1st but forming no conjunction is like having the "vibe"; people suspect that there is something there, but it is hard to confirm what that thing is. Venus conjunct Asc; "Wow, she is beautiful!" Venus in the 1st but not in aspect to the Asc; "There is something about her that just makes her stand out" |
DopGang | Edit: my mind is twisted sometimes and I changed my mind about putting it out there. |

That's a very good explanation! I have chiron in the 1st but not conjunct |

Less so than an actual conjunct the ASC but yes, to a lesser degree. ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Check Me Out, DUDE. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

No. However, such a planet can be Parallel or even Contra-parallel your Asc. ------------------ The Declinations Guy Astrology & Natural Medicine blog |
