Ayelet | I read that one born with an air ascendant is supposed to be very intelligent. But what if this is his or her only point of air in the chart? What if, besides the asc., there's no air at all? |
Mergoatsun | I would say that air ascendants makes someone look intelligent at first. However, a lack of air can make someone feel misunderstood, lack planning skills, may be way too involved with their own feelings and actions. Does this sound about right? ------------------ "Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace." -Dalai Lama |
Ayelet | Thanks, Mergoatsun. I cannot know yet if that applies, since the native is a baby... but it sounds logical. I read, though, in Sydney Omarr's book, that air asc. does actually bestows intelligence. And she has Aquarius asc. |
StubbornVirgo | @ Ayelet What else is in her chart? |
Aries23Degrees | If born with a Saturn ruled Ascendant and no planets on the Ascendant. There may be a feelin by the native that they have to "prove" themselves through achieving something of tangible value that speaks of who they know themselves to be. Where Saturn is placed suggests the area of life where the "tangible" thing may manifest. Whilst the Ascendant modality and element will depict the manner or method of how to get that manifestation. Since the Ascendant is in air, the method would be through emotional detachment, neutral appraisal and deductive reasoning(barring that "hot" or "moist" planets do not aspect the Ascendant) Air Ascendant dont only want ton"seem" intelligent, the will actively develop their minds to be sharp and alert. This may emphasize the achetype planet of intelligence(Mercury as well as aspets to it) in the chart as this the initial point where the development will begin. |
Radium | Look at what house corresponds with your Asc Like Aqua Rising you'd look at 11th house and Uranus since that what rules him.. |
Ayelet | Stubbornvirgo, here is a link to her chart: http://www.astro.com/cgi/chart.cgi?lang=e&gm=a1&nhor=6&nho2=1&btyp=2&mth=gw&sday=26&smon=7&syr=2016&hsy=2&zodiac=trop&ayanam=0&helgeo=geo&rs=0&orbp=&ast= |

That's interesting, though I'd say aquarius is ruled by Uranus and not by Saturn. but it used to be ruled by Saturn. Also interesting to note the native will develop her intellect as a result of this aspect. Mercury aspects Saturn, Uranus, Mars and the moon, as shown in the link. |

It's not mine... Saturn is in the 11th house. And Uranus in Aries in the 4th, trine Mercury. |
Aries23Degrees | I use traditional rulers and then supplement with modern rulers. Asc Aquarius is more likely to be a loner Ascendant. Mars,Mars/Pluto,Saturn, Saturn/Uranus,Jupiter/Neptune ruled people tend to be. Saturn(in this case in the 11th house) is where one seeks to condense and stabilize things. Whilst where Uranus is(and in this case the 4th), one may seek unique experiences and do away with the "old" to usher in the "new" The native may face early challenges in life relating to peers(11th). Or may keep the same friends well into maturity. Saturn here also suggests trouble making friends because of inability to relate to people who are the native's age. Saturn is mature energy and works best afer 30 onwards. So it may be slow in showing great rewards in early age. Uranus in 4th, well...i dont see being particularly keen in keeping the traditions and customs upon which they were raised. There is a possibilty(especially when in Aries) for the individual to seek complete independence from their father or what the father represents. |
Ayelet | That was interesting, Aries23Degrees... thank you! |
Ayelet | I actually think the traditional rulerships are bygones... and replaced smoothly by the modern. |
Randall | Interesting. |
Randall | Any Air helps. |

Ayelet | So we only appear to be our rising sign? Doesn't it go any deeper than that? |
