T O P I C R E V I E WvivietteHi allI'm new around here Today I was thinking about relocation charts and wanted to know your take on them.3 specific questions:if my family moved to another continent, so that the dynamic becomes "all I've ever known" ..would my core self be more like the relocated chart ? Therefore, with even more transition required to be able to "move towards" my natal chart, as Age intends?Would the exposure to another chart through relocation thus metaphorically act somewhat like the interaction of 2 people, in that I am exposed to other influences such as growing and learning (as one would through a partnership, as the other chart has other planet configurations? Thanks for your input. Hoping for deep reflective answers xAries23DegreesI am not sure if this will answer your question. But movements are Ic/Mc affecting. Its interesting to note that in solar arc theory, arcs to the Ic/Mc axis highlight home changes/moves.The planet arcing tends to rule the psychological dynamics of those changes. Sometimes even the physical ones.I would first look at the natal chart for clues i.e progressions/transit/ solar arcs etc, to understand what was going on psychologically. The relocated chart I can't really comment much on as I consider things popping up in the birth chart and progressions thereafter. For instance someone who has to suddenly flee the country has a differing frame of mind with someone who has chosen to leave.Jupiter on Ic/Mc may encourage those good feelings of "this change is good for me". And thus the place where they move to, will be met with much optimism and faith.Uranus on the Ic/Mc may have someone move suddenly or because of necessity- sometimes only taking that which they need and leaving the rest. So they may view the new place they settle in with a sense of shock or feeling "different' or not fitting in at all. Even longing for their home and feeling like they will never feel home anywhere from here on because they can't go back.lalalindaHello viviette! Welcome to LL ------------------"To be interesting, be interested"....Dale CarnegievivietteThanks Aries, appreciative of your input.Did you mean to check for an IC/MC hit in solar arc? (I've only looked at natal astro and interactive charts, all without prediction, so that's a whole new area and I don't know the rules of the game.)Or, did you mean that you'd only look at a Relocation Chart to check if a planet in the new place was hitting the IC/MC in that - but which in itself merely shows how one "feels" about the move? And you would suggest looking more at timing and solar arcs, which themselves can even suggest a move? Hence relocation charts are of little value, provided you have all the other tools, which is sufficient? In any case, it was a work move (parent.)I have planet Neptune on the IC in the Relocated, but it is on the 3rd house side and not 4th house of home. What are your initial thoughts on that small jigsaw piece?Nostalgia? Artiness? "Drift"? Creative wordplay -> Travel-writing? Now say you have a lot of Neptune contacts in the core natal chart: How do you know how much of the Neptune that's felt is from the Relocated IC hit, or coming from one's natal aspects? In the sense that the IC is also the "core" and if it's on the 3rd house side it could be less to do with the perception of home (4th) ? So how do you distinguish all the shades of Neptune?Thank-you Aries and friendly viewers quote:Originally posted by Aries23Degrees:I am not sure if this will answer your question. No. Your birth chart set an astrological imprint upon your life based on the location you chose. A later move does not alter or undo that choice or that imprint. Its interesting to note that in solar arc theory, arcs to the Ic/Mc axis highlight home changes/moves.
The planet arcing tends to rule the psychological dynamics of those changes. Sometimes even the physical ones.
I would first look at the natal chart for clues i.e progressions/transit/ solar arcs etc, to understand what was going on psychologically.
The relocated chart I can't really comment much on as I consider things popping up in the birth chart and progressions thereafter.
For instance someone who has to suddenly flee the country has a differing frame of mind with someone who has chosen to leave.
Jupiter on Ic/Mc may encourage those good feelings of "this change is good for me". And thus the place where they move to, will be met with much optimism and faith.
Uranus on the Ic/Mc may have someone move suddenly or because of necessity- sometimes only taking that which they need and leaving the rest.
So they may view the new place they settle in with a sense of shock or feeling "different' or not fitting in at all. Even longing for their home and feeling like they will never feel home anywhere from here on because they can't go back.
