T O P I C R E V I E WKeirraWIf there are any folks here from Cleveland Ohio, please visit the Lake View Cemetery to see the Haserot Angel. Possibly the most beautiful sculpture I have ever seen (in photo's sniff...). Any boffs herewho can put a pic up of it? Out of my league I'm afraid! LEXXWhilst I am generally not into angels,I agree from an artistic point of view it is a very interesting sculpture.(I live an hour or so from it) quote:The Weeping Angel {Haserot family plot} by WonderlandGlass http://www.forgottenoh.com/LakeView/haserot http://www.redbubble.com/people/wonderlandglass/works/7960721-the-weeping-a ngel-haserot-family-plot The following description is from the website forgotten Ohio. Lake View’s most famous piece of graveside sculpture stands atop the grave of Francis Haserot and his family, near the Mark Hanna mausoleum at the edge of the cemetery proper. The statue at their cemetery plot was sculpted in 1924 by Herman Matzen. The name I’ve always heard attached to the piece is “The Angel of Death Victorious.” The angel has his hands folded atop something that most people mistakenly call a sword. It would make sense, but in this case he’s holding an upside down torch, symbolizing a life extinguished. His pose is creepy enough, but the years have streaked his bronze skin and caused tears of discolored metal to stream from his blank eyes. KeirraWLexx, thank you so much for putting the pics up, you are a real sweetie. I myself am not all that into angels, but the Hasrot Angel just gets one! Thank you again, and loads of hugs and rainbows from Africa!EmeraldopalHi, and welcome, this jumped out!HASEROT = TO SHARE TEARS AT THE ROSEHEAR THE SHOREA HORSE HAS EARSO' THE TRASH!HE/SHE ROSE AT THE SEATO EARTH=HEARTwow, that just came out so fast!------------------All my love, with all my HeartlotusheartoneKeirraWWow Emeraldopal (many pretty stones.. ), that is really cool.
