T O P I C R E V I E WOrange King Edward VIII did something that monarchs do not have the luxury of doing - he fell in love. King Edward was in love with Mrs. Wallis Simpson, not only an American, but also a married woman already once divorced. Yet, in order to marry the woman he loved, King Edward was willing to give up the British throne - and he did. He did it because he wanted to " marry the woman I love."What in their charts prompts such fascination with this woman?Wallis unpublished letters reveal that she wasnt crazy about the King and she still hankered after her ex-husband, Ernest Simpson. Nevertheless, the two married 6 months after the King abdicated the throne. Here is the synastry and the Composite and i will post charts of Progressed Composites for the time they met and then got married. OrangeThey met in 1933 at a social eventHere is the Progressed Composite with transits for that time The Progressed Composite w/ transits for the year they got married viiv28For me this is more obsessive love rather than sacrificial. On a psychological level it vibes like neptune /uranus , because of the revolutionary/yet idealistic/addictive aspect of it. The king has strong pisces/cancer influence, had been known to be addictive person in general. I cannot see the neptune in his chart, but see the neptune in his appearance. He has a beautiful dreamy gentle and weak appearance. they are both aquarius ascendents, venus oppose uranus in the synastry. Cannot find the neptunian element, but im sure it is there. And saturn moon in synastry. LeeLoo2014Oh, yes, that is one classic worth an analysis...and an unusual synastry. So perhaps it is not such a big sacrifice for him, as being a kings is a very hard role. And he is the eternal boy. Saturn moon --him (saturn) being very committed by destiny to her (the moon). Also i noticed the rulers of hos 8th and 5th house is completely unaspected. The ruler of his 7th house only receives one aspect - a conjunction to her Sun - the ideal partner for him, perhaps.. Its just not too compelling.... Let me check the draconic, maybe something's there..viiv28Well he may not have much wanted to be king, in the sense that he had a great time being prince. He had many many women many affairs and especially married women. Women and girls were throwing themselves at him. Also at that time it was unthinkable to abdicate, so even if he was not thrilled to become king,he knew he would.Yet when he met Wallis he did fall madly n love with her, so she was a special woman. This was not a random thing. He loved her madly all their life. And this is a man,who could have anyone. She herself has a very special appeal and was extremely attractive to men. LeeLoo2014First of all, not one of my fav couples, I always wondered if she wasn't a gold digger, so possibly not a story of true love (You know if it's not twinflame, it's not my cup of tea, sis just kiddin' ), but apparently he was smitten. You can see this in Venus/Uranus alone - even isolated it can give this effect - and considering what Uranus rules here for both...but it also sits on a fixed cross with ASC/DSC. Never underestimate the power of the fixed cross! One can see this in cases when the planet is smitten and drools over the angle person. She has Uranus square ASC/DSC with Uranus ASC ruler - showing she was probably an unpredictable erratic exciting surprising changing charismatic weird one who keeps you on your toes personality (ASC) and partner (DSC). Apparently she was charismatic, with an unpleasant unusual voice, described a as a bit "trashy", and with a quirky personality. So this cross alone is very telling, IMO.Venus/Uranus also squares her nodal axis. But they also have, in the synastry:Sun/Karma conjunct Sun/Amor as DSC rulersI think their angles in the same signs and the "marriage" angles conjunct played a big role for them. They also have numerous aspects between planets and angles, asteroids and angles as suspected (they are listed in astro.com pdf), also some important connections between planets and nodes. I consider when there's a mesh of aspects between angles and planets, there's something important and long-term between two people (because the angles are so time-sensitive, so personalized). In this case, IMO, the nature of the aspects is not that important, just that they are there and there's many of them. The Kite with their Sun conjunction, his Moon and Juno pointing either to Juno/Valentine or his VertexVertex conjunct Vertex Moon/Saturna LOT of aspects/config involving their LilithsSignificant Juno, Ceres and Vesta aspectsThey don't have romantic aspects per se, but they do have "marriage" aspects and a very fated composite. In the synastry I also see:4th/5th overlays for him (he has DSC in Leo)his 5th ruler unaspected, but his Venus conjunct Lust in Taurus likes overlays in his 2nd house to be in love, and her Mars and Lilith are there and his Mars (2nd ruler) conjunct her Ceres squares her Sun - physical attraction here for sure, for himher MC ruler in his 7th/sec 8th on his DSC aspecting his ASC rulerFor her:His Mars/Moon in her interception, and another 2nd house connectionAll his planets fall in her "love area"His huge "marriage" asteroid stellium falls in her 7th on her Vertex (Vesta, Ceres, Pallas, Union, Alma, Chiron, Vertex)And of course their moon/Saturn with Priapus and Lust in their 8thConclusion: marriage plus LILITH aspects and the power of Venus/Uranus part of the fixed cross viiv28LeeLoo than you soo much for this great analysis! I do not think that with him she was a gold digger. Yes for sure she was interested in well off men,to begin with, because she had the poor relative complex, but her second husband was already very well off, he adored her, and she also loved him and continued to love him even when married to Edward. What happened with them was pure magic/destiny. So this cross alone is very telling, IMO.
Venus/Uranus also squares her nodal axis.
But they also have, in the synastry:
Sun/Karma conjunct Sun/Amor as DSC rulers
I think their angles in the same signs and the "marriage" angles conjunct played a big role for them. They also have numerous aspects between planets and angles, asteroids and angles as suspected (they are listed in astro.com pdf), also some important connections between planets and nodes. The Kite with their Sun conjunction, his Moon and Juno pointing either to Juno/Valentine or his Vertex
Vertex conjunct Vertex Moon/Saturna LOT of aspects/config involving their LilithsSignificant Juno, Ceres and Vesta aspects
They don't have romantic aspects per se, but they do have "marriage" aspects and a very fated composite.
In the synastry I also see:
4th/5th overlays for him (he has DSC in Leo)his 5th ruler unaspected, but his Venus conjunct Lust in Taurus likes overlays in his 2nd house to be in love, and her Mars and Lilith are there and his Mars (2nd ruler) conjunct her Ceres squares her Sun - physical attraction here for sure, for him
her MC ruler in his 7th/sec 8th on his DSC aspecting his ASC ruler
For her:
His Mars/Moon in her interception, and another 2nd house connection
All his planets fall in her "love area"
His huge "marriage" asteroid stellium falls in her 7th on her Vertex (Vesta, Ceres, Pallas, Union, Alma, Chiron, Vertex)
And of course their moon/Saturn with Priapus and Lust in their 8th
Conclusion: marriage plus LILITH aspects and the power of Venus/Uranus part of the fixed cross
What happened with them was pure magic/destiny.
her second husband agreed to the divorce only if the King promised to take good care of her and love her, he insisted. Quite a gentleman.
the King and Wallis lived quietly with no drama until his death..
