Yin | READ!!! It's good for the soul. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum13/HTML/000628.html

GypseeWind | *sigh* I should be reading alot more. I'm having eye issues lately, I guess I need reading glasses. Ouch.
|
AbsintheDragonfly | Thanks Yin! You can download a Amazon reader, for free, and they also have free novels to download along with it Books are tasty! I mean good to read |
Yin | YW, Abs. Yeah, you can now get free e-books everywhere. It's awesome! I don't like reading them on a computer screen though. That's why I recommended Kobo or Nook. Also, you can get a plethora of free books on Project Gutenberg. http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page Gypsee, you can always listen to your books. |
AbsintheDragonfly | Oh and the library archive too. I think if you google free ebooks you can find it. I do like the feel of the pages in my hands, so I have a hard time reading on my puter screen, though perhaps I'd like the Kobo reader. My one gripe was that the kindle was SO expensive when it came out. Oh Libravox! Gypseekinds, Check Libravox.org they are books all types that people read and upload for free downloads. It's nice, for car trips and sick children too |
Yin | Wanted to mention that libraries BUY the newest bestsellers and such so one can get them for free through Overdrive on different mobile devices or their computers. http://www.overdrive.com/ You can always read/ listen to your books on an iPhone if you don't mind the glare. Kobo is now down to $120. |
GypseeWind | I can't listen to books, I fall asleep immediately. BUT, luckily it's garage sale season, so I can stock up for the gloomy winter months. I just finished 'Icy Sparks' anyone read that? And the week before I read 'Lovely Bones'. I guess I read more than I thought. |
eskimono | Oh no gypsee - the lovely bones REALLY got to me. I remember being on a flight somewhere with tears streaming down my face at that bit she was underground. As a consequence I have never recommended it to anyone and gravitated to chic- lit- much safer!! |

GypseeWind | Sorry it affected you that way Esk, it's actually a really good book, with a decent ending. She talks alot about Heaven, how it's different for everyone. I found that part intriguing. Plus she helps solve her own murder so that her family can heal, and stay together. OOPS, hope I didn't spoil it for anyone that hasn't read it yet. |
eskimono | yes - it was a very good book - but I didn't like to think of others crying on planes, trying not to let anyone see! |
AbsintheDragonfly | It was an awesome book, even though I cried while reading it. I guess it can be a casualty of reading moving literature. |
