Stars_Melody | Spiritually? Or has just left you in a different state of mind? The movies "the fountain" or more recently "melancholia" are the only two movies I have ever felt spiritually moved by so far. Anyone seen them? |
Betty Boop | I was going to say The Fountain, as soon as I saw the title. I loved their connection. It seemed so real to me. There was something so deep about that movie.. but I can't even put it into words - because there is no logical explanation for it. It's just out of this world.

Betty Boop | Stars - Do you have a water Mercury or Venus in Scorpio (or in aspect to Pluto)? |
Alma Sun | Never seen the ones you mentioned, Stars. What movie has moved you... Aquacheeka | This happens to me so often that I don't think I can pick just one lol. Water moon in the 8th house trine Pluto.

I agree!!! Was going to say recently, "The Descendants" |
teasel | I can't pick just one. I could make a list. Pleasantville, and The Truman Show, were two that got me that way. Both about not being afraid of change, basically. I also loved the beautiful shots of b&w changing to colour. I burst into tears when the ending's song started to play, and two characters were on the bench, surrounded by colour, and looking happy. |

I saw -The Fountain- and didn't really care for it, but I'm glad someone was able to get something out of it. Personally -Endless Sunshine of the Spotless Mind- that moved me to the point that I refuse to watch it again. Not a big fan of my own emotions, and that one struck a chord that was just a little too deep. ------------------ Astrology Activism: The constant strive to not just learn the intricate details of Astrology but the desire to constantly find new ways to prove that it exists in a scientific manner. I feel the exact same way. I watch that movie a couple times a year and I always break down when izzy dies in the hospital and when he's in the room tattooing his wedding ring. It's always like I'm watching it for the first time again. The whole thing though...the music, visuals, story line. It's just beautiful. |

Oh, that sounds lovely. |
Lonake | The Passion of Joan of Arc The Seventh Seal Breaking the Waves quote: ``Breaking the Waves'' is emotionally and spiritually challenging, hammering at conventional morality with the belief that God not only sees all, but understands a great deal more than we give Him credit for (...) Not many movies like this get made, because not many filmmakers are so bold, angry and defiant. Like many truly spiritual films, it will offend the Pharisees. Here we have a story that forces us to take sides, to ask what really is right and wrong in a universe that seems harsh and indifferent. Is religious belief only a consolation for our inescapable destination in the grave? Or can faith give the power to triumph over death and evil? .
- Roger Ebert^ The bolded part is what's most beautiful about this film. . . . Haven't seen Melancholia yet but it's on my list. |

I've only seen October Sky. Did you read the book at all? I thought they did a great job making the movie. It was very inspiring. |
