Kerosene | Do people stay in chaotic environments... It's like you live in the US not an oppressed nation where you have no rights. Like I hear the people below me screaming and causing the earth to shake.. It's like should I feel bad? At first I was freaked out but I'm so use to it. I guess it's none of my business but those screams are horrifying sometimes.. I don't even live in a poor income apartment building LOL... wtf

Sibyl | I think you should call the police the next time. Worst case scenario they just get a noise complaint and whatever is going on is broken up. Best case scenario the police is able to help that poor person out. |
Kerosene | The police has come before... the thing is they both choose to live like this, these scenarios aren't uncommon... but I don't understand them.I think they need to help themselves because the police can't really do anything.. but I have to live in the shadow of their chaos lol.

Barbiegirl19 | We had the same issue in our apartment. The girl below us would scream sing and played loud music at all hours of the day. At first we called the owners of our building and they did nothing. So we took matters into our hands. Lol we've stomped obnoxiously on the floor, played even louder music and put the speaker on the floor so that the sound would play all in their apartment lol. And just yesterday we printed out our states noise laws and haven't heard a peep. Not saying you should do these but...LOL for the time being it's worked like a charm. |
Kerosene | LOL but they were just partying.. So they can control themselves. Either the girl is like emotionally unstable which I am guessing because.... I don't think it's abuse because no one has done anything... and that is just unacceptable in this city and neighborhood. Everyone is really proactive in the community welfare. Too many organizations and people who are apart of them LOL. I'm sure there is someone in our building that is apart of one or many LOL. I don't really know my neighbors to really chat with anyone about it. I usually spend my time out until I go home at night. |
Barbiegirl19 | Maybe her and my neighbor are related! They sound the exact same LOL |

Kero, You should report them if you believe they are fighting. It's your duty. Once I heard this man across the street yelling, screaming, banging on the door to a house over there. It was obvious something was going on so I called the cops. |
Kerosene | But i don't think it's like as nasty as it sounds.. Because if she was like really beat up than the cops would send his ass straight to the slammer. Maybe she's just a ragging spoilt brat.... even if you are fighting, You can handle it in another way instead of throwing a tantrum. Or maybe they like it and have amazing make up sex. I'll filed a complaint but Idk a lot of young people live in my building so I don't anyone is around or really cares enough to also file a complaint if no one is dying.. There are not any families living here. I have an infant around and at times I can tell it disturbs her. She never cries, I mean it's not that noisy as if they are in the other room... She is aware of the commotion.. and gives a pensive look at me.. ***** WHAT IS HAPPENING... |
StarlightSmileSupreme | Well, then you should tell someone, Kero. Make a complaint with the appropriate authority. Does it happen all night? You have a right to noise free hours in an apartment. No one has to know who called. |

Oh you'd be surprised. If she refuses to admit to it and refuses to press charges.. there isn't much they can do. It's very common for victims of home violence to protect their abuser. |

So true and it baffles me. However, in the US anyway (not sure where everyone is from) If they claim abuse, cops come and then the victim denies it, yet there are visible marks indicating abuse then it's off to jail they go! Sadly though, as you say, the victim is crying for them to let the abuser go. smh |
StarlightSmileSupreme | It's out of your hands once your call but you do have the responsibility to report it imo. Cops should investigate. What if something happens, someone gets hurt (or worse) and then you are sitting there thinking I shoulda called when I heard all that well too late now. This is why I never hesitate to call whenever I hear a lot of screaming and yelling outside and I am sure it's not just people messing around or whatever, especially if it's at night. |

Ok I get that but why? WELL i HAVE AN IDEA WHY but... I mean.. I really want to get into their head.. I feel like it's more than just having an abusive childhood or what not. |

Yah I think I'll call someone tomorrow.. not the police an organization uhh I'm not educated on social work.. I know someone who has a lot of knowledge. I asked my friends and their like Oh the people above us are like that too, It's so common to an alarming level.. 0_0
|
Kerosene | but what can you really do when people choose to be in those types of relationships... In a way they have made a conscious choice and if she loves her abuser than she'll go back to him...I'm not trying to make offensive bold statements but from my observation that's just how it goes. I think it would be one thing if she was kept against her will but I feel like one can be clever enough get out of a long term situation.. I guess it depends how deep it goes.. But again you can go to the authorities. |
StarlightSmileSupreme | All you can do is call the cops when they are fighting in case one of them tries to kill the other. At least you did something and it might be all you can do. What I find frustrating is when people stand around shrugging after something happens and they mutter I heard something but I didn't call. Just call already and no vain regrets. Cops always want people to report suspicious activities. |
Kerosene | I think they need to get evicted more than anything... They're probably rich though.. since I live in private owned building so they must have the extra swanky suit since they are ignored.I would be more inclined to call the cops if they would party all night for example it's more scary to hear but it does not last for too long.. I have thought about it but it just sorta settles down.. when I get around to doing it. |
Kerosene | I think contacting a social worker is better in the long run at least they can keep tabs.. Cops are cold... Maybe they need to open up to someone.. Honestly if their gonna kill each other it's out anyones hands.
|
StarlightSmileSupreme | If it were me and I heard screams in the night I would be on the phone to the cops I would say I hear a woman screaming in the apartment below it worries me. The cops would check it out. |
