I think Cancer/ Taurus / Scorpio is a good combo, Sun/Moon and ASC are well attuned here: Cancer Sun becomes stronger, Scorpio ASC softer, Taurus moon less self-centered, though, it might not be the case if Sun and Moon opposed each other.

I remember that you have ASC/Sun/Moon in supportive aspects and actually described your placements in my previous post
I would not say 'Moon and Asc. are opposed', I prefer to say 'Moon conj DSC' which actually makes Taurean Moon less self-centered because Moon acquires Libran qualities while in VII house/conj DSC.

I have Sun in Taurus, Moon in Sag and ASC in Cappy. My ASC and Sun go well together and make me feel confident and resourceful.
My Moon inconj Sun and DSC (30 degree aspect to ASC). People usually get very surprised even puzzled when such a serious and grounded person starts acting hilarious or turns out to have head in the clouds! I just become totally different from what people think I am. My adventurous and dreamy Moon makes me restless and dissatisfied with where I am, while earthy and practical ASC and Sun press me down to the ground and make me feel 'locked in the cage'.
I also have afflicted Uranus on MC which makes my life very unstable and unpredictable and here my Sag Moon becomes essential! I always hope that when things change, they change for the better though it is not the case most of the time these changes are very painful though and it is difficult for my poor afflicted thus depressive Sun to endure them because IC/MC is also involved (Sun conj IC, Uranus conj MC). And when such times come the only thing that give me hope and strength to move on is my Moon conj Neptune in Sag.
But generally speaking I don't think Moon inconj Sun is a good aspect, it is kind of awkward' or 'pin-prick' aspect.
