What has your experience been with this aspect? Were you the Sun or the Mars?

I have the Sun conjunct Mars in my natal chart, so... pretty much every male born in the latter part of January I've known has become kooky over me... and it's really funny, because at one time or another, they always say, so ardently "you are exactly my type"...

I met a guy online that I had known through other forums, and i had seen his picture and while he was goodlooking, he wasn't like "WHOOAAH" over the top, crazy handsome or anything... but... MY GOD... I was always drawn to him. I was like "wow, that guy... is exactly my type... everything about him is just... wonderful, exactly the kind of man I am into"...

We finally got to talking via IM's and I got his birth date... lo and behold! His Mars is conjunct my Sun/Mars!

I know he find me very attractive and I know he likes me and at one point, things got quite intense (we are just e-buddies now)... but I wonder if he felt similarly? I know with the Aqua guys that were into me, I would like them and think they were cute and all, but I was never as smitten as they were, and I didn't necessarily feel they were "exactly my type" or perfect for me or anything like what they were saying.

I guess, I'm asking because I met this AMAAAAZING guy a few weeks ago. I think I like him more than he likes me, if he likes me at all... he hasn't called in a few days and I'm in knots over it. he's born on Jan 23rd and I'm Jan 26th... so I'm supposed to be exactly his type, right? RRIIIIIIGGGHT?? LOL

We met at a bar and hit it off, talking all night. He is so handsome -- sh*t! He is exactly my type! He is so calm and amazing and unpretentious. We had an amazing first date and it was really quite... calmly intense.

It was one of those instant attraction things, I was coming from the toilets and I saw him and i was like "wow! he's so handsome"... but I didn't think he noticed me. i came back to my seat at the bar, and there he was, looking right at me and he was just like "hi"... and i said "hi"... and that was it!!!

And then the first date... it was so sweet. We have everything in common. It was just so quietly intense. I felt like I was embarking on something new and wonderful, so quietly and softly, just like... it was meant to be. I know i sound crazy, but really!!! That's how I felt. And I am a really non-mushy, unsentimental Aquarian gal. I don't usually get like this after one date.

I think it scared him off, the intensity of it all. He was so ardent, looking me right in the eye telling mehe was going to call the next day and.. Nothing. I haven't heard from him in days...

This is typical male Aqua behaviour, right? *unimpressed*

Anyhow... I want to know what you guys think about the Sun/Mars in synastry... what's your experience?

When I heard his birthday, I thought I had this one in the bag, hahahahahahhahaha

Mars. He has Sun conjunct Saturn. Aquarius all three.

He is older than me. He works a lot. I like space and can't stand possessive men. He earns a lot of money. Everyone is happy!

When a woman's Sun conjuncts a man's Mars there is great sexual tension. A very physical attraction. You want to touch this person a lot. (mutual)

Remember your Mars placement shows how you act out your Sun sign so their Mars will definately compliment your Sun.

lalalinda,

i'm confused about how your mars shows how you act out your sunsign. what if they are in different signs altogether? is it similar to the way the house modifies the sun sign?

Venus, all I can say is HOTTTTT!!! VERY hot. Almost too much...like fatal attraction.

I was sun, he was mars, but I'm like you...I have sun conjunct mars in my natal chart as well.

Yes heartcakes, same principle,
Mars is the planet of action

Mars in Aries would make a Pisces Sun sign, more direct, more assertive.

Mars in Taurus would be a more practical, stubborn Pisces, one with staying power.

Mars in Gemini would be a talkative, energetic Pisces, one with even more scattered energy.
(Pisces has it anyway)

right. so then every planet essentially is modifying your sun sign, and your sun sign is the essence of you, is what you're saying? this is probably VERY obvious, but i just want to make sure.

venus de milo,

i have mars conjunct sun in aquarius too, and, honestly aquarian guys don't especially do it for me. maybe for women it is more about venus, and same would be true in reverse, but with venus?

i guess it seems like maybe aquarian guys are quite attracted to ME though, but i don't know very many..

Heartcakes, EXACTLY!!! Most Aquarian men don't really do it for me, but the ones born within 4 or 5 days of me are always crazy about me and I've put it down to my mars automatically being conjunct their sun. they always say things like:

"you're exactly my type"
"you have everything i like and want in a woman"
"you're so perfect for me"

I've liked them well enough, but I've never matched them in their fervor.

Except this guy that I met two weekends ago. I feel like I dreamed him into life! He "seems" that perfect to me... and note, I put seems in quotations, because I know he may not be all that he seems. And he's born on January 23 - 3 days before me... AND HE'S NOT RETURNING MY CALLS!!!! AAAAAAAARRRGGGHH!!!!

CrankyCap! HI!! I haven't seen you around here in ages! You know, I've always felt like I relate to you, maybe it's because we have this similar energy in our charts? Also, my Moon and Mercury are in Capricorn

I know, I have only been the Sun person in a Sun/Mars conjunction one time that I know of, and that's with that online guy that I adore. I think he's so awesome. I may get to meet him at a fitness expo I'm attending this summer... OMG!!! Exciting, LOL. If he can make me this weak in the knees online, imagine in person. He's extremely witty and intelligent, he's just great. Totally my type of guy in every way!!!

Lala... what about when the woman is the Mars? Does it change how each party relates to the other?

Hey Venus,

There's still the same strong compatibility and sexual tension but when it's the mans Mars this fulfills the womans ideal of the "perfect man"

I guess this explains my strong desire to get with an Aries girl on a very physical level Mars Aries 7th/8th house

I dont think a girls mars in Cancer or Leo conjuncting my sun in Cancer would be the same.. but i dont know..

good post.. and im eagerly waiting for this aspect to come up with a girl im with <3

forgot to add the sun could also be in Pisces seeing how my mars is only 3 degrees Aries.

Hi Lala!

Interestingly, his Mars is in Capricorn conjunct my Moon... actually his Mercury and Mars are conjunct my Moon.

He is so amazing, I may be completely kidding myself and perhaps he's "just not that into" me, but I think he's scared. We did have one date at a coffee shop after we met at the bar, and the quiet intensity of the meeting was palpable. We were finishing each others sentences and laughing naturally. Talking about our families and our lives, really getting to know each other. It was really great. Physically, he is sooooo ridiculously my type that it is not even funny. He's about 6'3 or 6'4, ridiculously handsome... but totally unaware of it. He's scruffy and into extreme sports and surfing and dresses down, he's so kind and sweet. I like everything about him.

But now he's not calling me

I want to say it's the typical Aqua cold feet, because it's very obvious that starting something between us would be something really BIG, not at all superficial and... I think quite magical... so maybe he isn't ready for that and it scares the crap out of him?

I don't know, but he was really sweet and earnest (and I thought, over-eager in a really adorable way) about calling me the next day and that was last Thursday. I sent him a text on Sunday saying "hello handsome! how was your weekend?"... and I have no response.

I'm just going to leave it alone from here, it's in his hands. It's just such a shame. I have never been so gaga over someone after just one date. It's his free will. If he's not ready, he's just not ready.

In a way, I am happy to know that someone that wonderful exists, even if he can't be mine right now.

Just take a look at this composite!!!

It's crazy!!! Am I right or am I right about this thing being something really big if it ever got started???

Please disregard the ASC aspects, because I have no idea what time he was born, or if he was actually born in San Francisco. The Moon, however, stays in that huge cluster of planets, even if I move the time of birth to 11.45pm.

And there is a yod, pointing to Mars in the composite! I don't know what that means exactly, I just know it must be pretty important, heheheh.

hey venus! you're like a week and a half older than me

UMM.. it does sound really promising.. i wish i could read composites, but i just started studying them myself. somehow yours seems peaceful to me, though.

aquarians are SO weird but it does sound like he's probably quite into you. i dunno, i don't think aquarians tend to feel super comfortable with people all that often, generally speaking, so if you two hit it off that well, i'm sure he felt something. maybe there is some reason he hasn't returned your call, like he lost your number or he's really really shy.

i did recently read a really good post from a couple years back about aquarian guys.. and the general idea was play it a bit aloof so that they can chase you.

also, aquarians need to sort out their feelings mentally before acting on them.. so i would give it more time and just keep your energy up and keep doing things that make you happy! send him little telepathic smiles and things..

hey heartcakes! i think day dreamer is also born around the same time as us too

i was really torn up about it over the weekend and really really wanted to hear from him, but at this point, i have meditated on it and i can truly honestly say i am ok with not hearing from him again. it just thrills me to know that someone like him even exists and maybe that was the only reason for him to come into my life so fleetingly

if he calls me, he calls me, but if not... i am just letting it go.

it still excites me. just thinking of him brings a smile to my face. he was great!

Venusdeindia... I would love to see this through and see him again, but I already texted him and he hasn't responded and I'm not really one to do the chasing...

I'm of the mind that if he was really into me or wanted to pursue this, he would have responded. I know I would have.

I'm just going to wish him well and thank the universe for letting me meet someone as wonderful as him, it makes me optimistic to know he exists, it really does.

I feel all warm and fuzzy now, heheheh

Hey Venus! I've been around...just laying low for a while! It's nice to see you post, I've always felt a good comraderie with you as well!

I've found that sun/mars hard contacts (square, conj, & opposition) are FAR hotter than the venus/mars conjunctions everyone talks about. That particular guy I mentioned before and I had some very intense connections:

his mars conj my sun
my moon conj his sun
my venus conj his moon
his n node conj my sun

In our composite chart we had:

Sun conj merc
moon conj venus
moon conj mars
venus conj mars

It was almost too hot to handle! So much so that we're supposed to see eachother again in a few weeks...it's been a year since we've met face to face...I can't imagine how intense it's going to be! Just feels like we can't stay apart...

Seeing Stars,

Sun in Aries would be an intense match for you...there would be sparks every which way due to the combination of the conjunction and your suns being square...
But, like I said it's not JUST the sun-mars conjunction, it's the square and opposition too...
The Second hottest, most intense relationship I ever had was with someone who had mars in Aries, square my sun. And my first love had mars in Cancer. So don't rule out Cap suns, Cancer suns, or Libra suns either...those could be pretty hot as well.

Yep, I've had this... I was Sun conjunct his Mars- in Capricorn. Just like you say, VenusdeMilo... HOT, intense, he got scared after a while when he knew of my interest but yet he could not stay away. We also had Mars conjunct Venus running both ways- double whammy- but I know from his side that the sexual attraction was there; that much he did end up admitting to me more than once and often.

I was the Sun.

My Sun was conjunct his Mars/Pluto conjunction within 1 degree.

I pursued him, needless to say. For a long time, I was the dominant one in the relationship, always. He was very passionate, free-wheeling, anything goes Sagittarius...but when he was with me, he became super protective and controlling. I couldn't stand that (I have Mars in Aquarius). So after 3 years of the most passionate highs and lows you could ever imagine, I broke away from that.

But bottom line, It was very very passionate. All day, every day. Highly sexual, how could it not be with my LIFE ESSENCE (Sun) shacking up with his extremely primal urges (Mars/Pluto)?! But in the end, the desire to have ultimate control (his Mars/Pluto conjunction in Scorpio) that I had illuminated (Sun) within him drove me away.

It was a powerful connection though, to this day, I still find it hard to walk entirely away...I mean, it's hard to find passion like that *rawr*

CrankyCap-

Yea it does sounds intense.. but let me point something out. Instead of a square between our Suns it would more likely be a Trine. I have a Sun Trine Mars (both Planets on cusps) but yet in the same qualities. I also would like to point out the possibility of not only sun conjuncting my mars but if born on the right day even Sun conjunction DC, True Node, Mars and Trineing my Sun YAY! also with either one of these combos her sun would be sitting in my 7th house! yes all these sparks in the 7th!

so for a sun Conjuncting my Mars it would be March 14 - April 2nd (either Aries or Pisces Girl )

and for major fireworks we are looking at March 12-14th any girls born in these ranges (she would be Pisces, I think I already met a girl like this but she managed to slip away )

In my experience, Sun (female) conjunct Mars (male) is a double edged sword.

On one hand, there is this HUGE sexual tension BUT (and it is a big BUT) it is close to a Pluto / Sun or Pluto / Venus Conjunction. One is always chasing the other.

The Mars holds the cards. It is THEIR energy we seek. We want them, to touch them, to be with them, whereas Mars, with that red hot (and cold) energy, can play along as long as they WANT to play along. When they don't return our desire outright, we feel rejected, we are clouded by these rose (no..passion red) colored glasses...

It also depends on their Sun sign and other planet aspects. I was with a Leo Sun / Aqua Moon / Venus in Gemini. He was hot and cold all the time. His Pluto squared mine (but mine does natally) we clicked but we didn't. It was always a chase until, as in typically Sag Sun form, I was so bored and I found his weakness. He needed women... He needed to be cared for all the time.. Blech.. Not for me...

I am with a Mars in Taurus now.. Although Sag and Taurus don't trine.. in our case and by degree they do. His Mars conjuncts my Saturn (2 degrees) which trines my 25 degree Sag Sun..

We do have tense and karmic aspects. His Venus conjuncts my Pluto in Virgo within 1 degree. It is intense and yet unsettling at times. I know that being the Pluto person I have to be careful not to take that aspect lightly. The same is true for the Mars / Sun aspect (or Mars / Moon conjunction) We also have my Mars in Pisces conjuncting his Moon in Pisces.

Mars and Pluto are nothing to be played with. The Mars and Pluto person has the power. It is what they do with it that is important.

10 Degrees but when I actually counted days I used 9 degrees.. for all the conjunctions I described, the orbs would end up being pretty wide so I guess thats the catch. I could be slightly off though maybe I cant have the sun Conjuncting all of those at once.
