I used to frequent a board that is now read-only. Some readers were wonderful writers. I'm not, although someone told me that I should be a writer (I guess I occasionally get into the zone, but I was always more of a visual artist).

Moon/Venus conjunctn my South Node in Gemini, cusp of the 8th house, sextile Jupiter, trine Pluto, square Mars in Pisces, inconjunct Uranus/ascendant. I once had a reading that I didn't know how to interpret for someone else, and months later, after something happened, I remembered and flipped out a bit. It came true, four months after the reading.

I'm surprised there haven't been more responses to this thread, there used to be loads of tarot readers on LL. I'll take a stab at your questions, but I have no idea if any of my astrology is linked to why or how I read tarot.

So, I've been reading since I was 13-14. I got a deck free with, I think it was Spirit magazine in the nineties. I pretty much took the cards out, had a look through them, shuffled them, laid them out and read the picture they formed. My conclusion was that my high school sweetheart was cheating on me.

I was on holiday at my cousin's in another country at the time. I called my best friend at home and she told me that they had put the tent up out the backgarden the night before and my boyfriend and one of my friends had went off into a compartment in it, and that the word the next day was that they'd been up to no good.

I promptly threw the cards away. He admitted it when I got home. I never read again until I was 17-18. And then I just never stopped, although I do take longish breaks, but the connection always seems to be there and when I picked up the cards for the first time, it felt like the connection always had been there.

Anyway, that's the background. Onto to your questions.

I'm very curious what you brought with you via your south node.
I have a 3rd house SN in Capricorn conjunct Venus, square Mars, Saturn, ASC and Pluto.

As well do your NN, MC or 6th bring strength that might make you a good reader or interested in divination arts?
9th house NN in Cancer. Nothing in 6th house; 6th house ruler on ASC. Midheaven is in Leo opposite Mercury in Aquarius. The Leo Midheaven is probably why I sing/write music, rather than anything metaphysical.

Also which decks, artists are amongst your favourites and/or in your collections?
People buy me decks all the time as presents. But I have only ever had clear results with the Rider Waite. Been using it for about 20 years now.

How about your gemstones.
I don't 'use' gemstones as such. I make jewellery with them and I like to wear whichever stone feels good at the time. Currently I am wearing aquamarine, but Moonstone is probably the stone that feels right for me to wear most of the time.

I keep my cards in a purple bag with a raw amethyst inside with them. If I am struggling with how a card fits into a reading, I sit the amethyst on it and come back to it. I have no idea why I do this, but it seems to help for some reason.
