Perhaps this will interest some of them. Theres this trend in bollywood that some songs have so much sufi quality in them. Theres one song I heard a while ago and keeps playing on my lips. The song goes as follows. The song is composed western like (click the link below). But theres this quality to it that I feel is more sufi like:
quote:
Song : In dino dil mera from the movie Life in a Metro
In dino, dil mera, mujhse hai keh raha
tu khwaab saja, tu ji le jara
hai tujhe bhi ijaazat, karle tu bhi mohabbat
Berang si hai badi zindagi kuchh rang to bharoon
main apani tanhaayi ke waaste abb kuchh toh karoon
jab mile thodi fursat, mujhse karle muhabbat
hai tujhe bhi ijaazat, karle tu bhi muhabbat
Usako chhupaakar main sabse kabhi le chaloon kahin door…
aankhon ke pyaalon kse pita rahoon usake chehre ka noor
iss jamaane se chhupakar, puri karloon main hasrat
hai tujhe bhi ijaazat, karle tu bhi muhabbat

My own translations provided below:
These days my heart says to me
you must dream and live a life.
Even you have the permission to love.
Life is so colourless, fill it with some colors
I must do something about my loneliness
When you have the time, you must love me
Let me hide him/her(btw usko is a unisex word) from the world and take her far away
From the cup of my eyes let me drink the beauty of her face
Let me hide from this world and fulfill my desire
Even you have the permission to love
