So, I have Sun and Mercury in Pisces in the 8th House. Anybody else have planets in the 8th? I'd like to know how you are positively using this energy and any jobs that you have as I am rather lost.
Thanks all!

My 20 year has the same, but Sun, Moon and Merc in Aqua in the 8th.

She is so emotionally smart, she is a very old soul (despite making some terrible decisions a few years back.)

She loves to probe the mind, to figure things out, to psychoanalyze.

She would probably take on counseling, but the cost is way out of our league..

As a Scorp Asc. I also like to probe to the depths of the human psyche.

I have a dear friend who is a Scorpio sun and almost a Scorpio everything. All of her plantes are in the 7th. She is great at probing the depths of relationships.

The 8th/Scoprio/Pluto can be scary and it can be so very healing!

Yes, I do find change, emotional change, particularly regarding the end of relationships terribly painful, almost destructive. Not sure how I turn this around.

I have sun (taurus) and mercury (gemini) in the 8th house. I also have venus (gemini) and jupiter (gemini) in the 8th house. They form a stellium and conjunct each other.

The way it manifests me is I have a very probing mind. I am horribly nosy and want to know everything about everybody on a pretty deep level. At times, it's just for the sake of knowing, at other times it's because there is likely very useful information contained with in.

My mind goes very deep and my thoughts go very fast and far. Often a bit too much. I can go deep within my own mind and figure out the source from where anything has come from. As a consequence I am extremely self aware.

The energy here is very intense, and at times hard to control and contain. I have the ability to fabricate and fool pretty much anyone. If I took the path, I could have been an excellent conman if it were not for my sensitive side and moral code. I use this ability constructively. The human mind is extremely logical to me and others behaviors and quirks just make sense. I "get it". I use this to help people sort out their problems and grow as an individual. Care must be taken not to control others. It's very very easy for me to do and I have to constantly tell myself to stop. As hippichick said, psychoanalyzing comes easy to this placement and I do get a great deal of joy out of it.

Having mercury and the sun in the 8th house can and often does lead to the individual having an almost psychic sense into the minds of others. This only becomes a bad thing if you allow this to lead to parinoia stemming from lack of internal proof, or if you use it in a negative way (i.e. to unfairly control others).

Just keep working on yourself. This is one of the biggest gifts of the 8th house. Having your sun and mercury there will allow you to see all of your own inner demons very easily! At first it might be alarming and cause a lot of stress. Nevertheless awareness is the first step to improvement. Turn this around, by turning yourself around. Find out what exactly the problem is and where the problem lies, find the solution, and GO for it!

As far as profession, I am an organic chemist in grad school working on getting a PhD. I use my placements in the 8th house to be able to learn things at depth to their core (which is often a shortfall of gemini placements). It can be used constructively because the 8th house can get to the core of anything. I could have easily gone into psychology but the problem is I get too personally invested in things. Over time I could see myself being unable to properly detatch from clients. Additonally, manipulating them in unjust ways if I felt they weren't "going fast enough".

All of this is amped up in me a lot more as well since I have pluto in the 1st house conjunct my scorpio moon.

I have both of the same planets in the 8th House in Virgo. I'm able to use them positively as well. Very useful in research and exposing taboo things fearlessly.

Really appreciate all your responses. Yes, I do psycho analyse everything - I thought this was one of my talents as I am aware when I am simply around somebody or even miles around geographically what appears to be happening - it's rather bizarre and not necessarily welcome! However, I thought that was because I have pluto and uranus in the 3rd. Clearly, I have considerable learning in front of me regarding astrology!

Love, light and happiness to you all!

I have uranus and neptune in the 8th. I attract some bizarre circumstances from the most unusual types of people. I'm down with it though.
To me its all in the learning experience and part of the reason I breathe astrology. Lol
Im obscurred by the motives of others and would adore becoming adept at manipulating events. I was bffs with a person who had a stellium of 8th planets and they had a heart of gold. This person found such value in people and life and things mattered so much to them.... I'm using my 8th energy to elucidate the false pretentions and have a magnified approach.I. try to keep my opinions to myself. I pay attention to details and bend myself responding by what they want from my intuition, rather than what is. I do this so I can see what they're all about. Then I slip into my gown of truth. To them its a misunderstanding if they catch me because in all reality, we weren't being direct with our conversation to begin with. But no, I don't lie. I also judge on facial expression and I reaaaally have to stop doing that because it is bad for me.

If you want a personal reading you need to post in PR forum and post your chart, pref with progressions and transits and reduce the orb ratio down to 85%

How to post your chart… http://www.linda-goodman.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ubbmisc.cgi?action=getannounce&ForumNumber=11&Start=2455736.99&End=2459389&Session=

Now mercury is in detriment in pisces http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detriment_(astrology)
but helped being conj sun, BUT it all depends on how these two are aspecte.

Remember planets are modifiedy by signs, where they express are houses and how they express are *aspects*

Is there a positive way to use this energy? I don't know because it's neutral energy. You do the best you can trying to deal with all that intensity. I have Sun on the cusp of the 7/8th cusp and Mercury/Pluto in the 8th and I just take life as it comes. Yeah I feel things incredibly intensely and the world feels like a never ending murky water but you do what you can with this energy. Allowing it to be of service to you, and living life deeply. I don't necessarily use this energy positively because what we'd consider a positive way to use this energy is relative, however I use it the best way I can. If any thing I try to express it purely which I guess could be considered the healthiest way to express it. Being an intense person is a gift and I handle that potent energy wisely.

I work in media and consider myself a culture/art media person. I've always been interested in cultures, the media arts and technology. I like to dig deep within a subject and explore it continuously until I've devoured it utterly and thus am ready to move on to discover something else. I'm fundamentally a researcher. My advice to you is don't think too much about the positive or negative ways to use this energy. Just try to understand it and let it express itself purely and organically.
